“Accusing someone without evidence is defamation Julia rolled her eyes and said Harry’s lines. “I knew you’d say that. A woman’s intuition is sometimes spot on. We speak with facts so you can’t accuse me of defaming Arya.”
Julia smirked. “I almost forgot that Arya is the sweetheart in your heart. I shouldn’t have accused your sweetheart without evidence. Seems like I don’t quite understand the ways of the world.”
Though Julia sounded self–deprecating. Harry understood the implication behind her words. He glanced at Julia helplessly and said, “I didn’t say that.”
“Though you didn’t say it, you thought it. I just said it for you before you had the chance.” Julia continued slowly, “So, ment are truly not trustworthy. Only naive women believe men’s words easily.”
Harry asked, “From what you’re saying, you don’t trust men’s words anymore?”
Julia smiled at Harry. “Depends on the situation and who’s speaking. Some people’s words are not very trustworthy.” Harry chuckled. Julia always liked to be sharp in her remarks. If he intervened in the conversation, it would imply she was targeting him. Yet, Julia didn’t state it explicitly, so he wouldn’t casually attribute blame to himself.
Valerie sat bored nearby, occasionally glancing at the still–unconscious woman. She alternated between observing Harry and Julia, resting her chin in her hands, pouting. When Julia looked back at her, Valerie winked suggestively, as if gossiping.
Seeing this, Julia sat down next to Valerie and started chatting.
“Why are you chatting with me? Aren’t you afraid Harry will get bored? Besides, I quite enjoy watching you two talk. It’s like watching a verbal sparring match, so entertaining. Valerie said with excitement in her eyes. Julia looked at Valerie and understood what was going on in her mind.
Julia lightly tapped Valerie’s head, winking subtly. “You better keep those thoughts to yourself.”
“How do you know what I’m thinking? Valerie laughed, almost blurting out her thoughts directly.
Harry indeed felt neglected. He sat beside Julia, listening to their conversation, occasionally chiming in with non–verbal cues and smiling. Although his smile was rare, his usual stoic expression seemed more familiar to Julia.
People who smile often were usually gentle and approachable. However, Harry’s smiling face was even more chilling. Julia touched her arm, feeling the hairs standing up involuntarily.
She quickly averted her gaze, pretending not to notice Harry’s smile. However, Valerie seemed to be infatuated. She admired Harry and said, “Mr. Wright, you look so handsome when you smile.”
Julia took a sip of water, nearly choked by Valerie’s surprising remark.
Harry glanced at Julia sideways. Julia understood his meaning but remained silent, continuing to shield her expression. behind her water cup.
Harry was the type of person who would become arrogant with just a bit of praise. He had extreme confidence, especially in his appearance. Julia quietly averted her gaze, looking at the woman lying on the sickbed, wondering when she would wake up. The doctor said she would slowly regain consciousness once the effects of the medicine wore off.
Julia walked over and saw the woman twitch her eyelids slightly. She quickly had Valerie call the doctor. After an examination, the woman slowly opened her eyes. However, upon seeing Julia, she almost lost control of her emotions.
Fortunately, Harry swiftly pulled Julia behind him. Although his presence didn’t immediately calm the woman, his imposing aura did manage to shock her into composure

The woman’s emotions gradually settled, and the doctor left, leaving only a few of them in the roofn. Harry asked, “Weren’t you supposed to be at home taking care of Aryal Why did you suddenly appear by the roadside?
The maid trembled at the mention of Arya’s name, not daring look at Harry’s face. She recalled Arya warned her that if Harry knew what happened, she would not let her off.
Julia caught the fleeting terror in the maid’s eyes, so she took a step forward, tentatively mentioning Arya’s name. The maid’s eyes quickly flashed with fear again. Julia immediately asked, “Vere your injuries caused by Arya, right?”
When the maid heard this, she was frightened into silence, shaking her head repeatedly. She was afraid of revealing anything. After a few seconds, she stuttered an explanation, “No, no, I just fell accidentally. It has nothing to do with Miss.
Hill
Julia sneered. “Are you sure it has nothing to do with Arya? Then why do you become so afraid when you hear her name? Don’t worry, Harry is here. He will help you. If Arya has done anything to you, you can tell us.”
Finishing, Julia glanced at Harry again. Seeing Harry remain silent and expressionless, she emphasized, “Mr. Wright, the truth is right in front of you. If you still choose to defend a psychopath, I really admire your deep affection.”
