The movements of the girl were mild. She held her breath and concentrated on every movement, without being eased.
It took 20 minutes to open the lock on the golden box.
The girl put aside those parts that she took down and turned the front of the box around, showing the gem inside, shining like a star, to others.
It could be said that the box was a masterpiece made by men, while the gem was an artwork made by the nature.
If people wondered what treasure could be stored in this exquisite box, it must be a beautiful gem like this one.
The box and the gem were a perfect match.
Even Sienna, who was not interested in anything, was staring at the gem.
Finn sighed, "It's a pity that the gem has never been known."
But the old man didn't agree, "Such a beautiful thing should be appreciated alone. It won't be beautiful, if people that come to appreciate it become more."
Finn found it make sense.
"But then why are you showing it to us? Do you want me to buy it? The gem truly is worth at least 2 billion."
The old man waved his hand and said, "I'm just willing to share, but I won't sell it. The things that I like are not so many, but the gem is my favorite. I won't sell it for any amount of money."
Finn was confused and said, "Well, then I can't give you 2 billion."
The old man said, "Be patient, Mr. Chen. Please let me finish."
Finn stopped to listen to what he wanted to say.
"Though I won't sell the gem to you, it's hard to say if you can pay 2 billion to have it ."
Finn asked, "How come? Why are you say so if you're not willing to sell it?"
"Will you believe if I tell you that there are more gems like this one in the world?"
Finn denied it without hesitation, "It's impossible."
The old man smiled and said, "The world is so big that nothing is to be surprised at. Mr. Chen, don't say that so firmly. I want you to use 2 billion to find a gem like this one."
Finn looked at the old man and said, "I'm feeling that you're lying to me. You induce my desire with the gem, and then trick me to give you money. At last, I may get nothing, but you have my money."
The old man was stunned. It seemed that he had never thought that Finn would think so.
He said, "You're getting me wrong."
Finn said, "I don't care. I only don't want my money to be spent in a doubtful way, though 2 billion isn't much."
The old man turned indifferent. He didn't want to persuade him, since Finn had turned down determinedly.
When the old man was about to say something, the door was pushed from the outside.
It must be someone extraordinary because he or she dared to interrupt the old man.
So, they looked at that way when they heard the noise.
A figure in red showed up, wearing black pants and a red blouse.
Sienna didn't care about the deal, but she was confused.
She asked, "Why did you change your mind?"
Finn shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
"The old man is good at it. The gem is real and the box was designed with efforts. For those who are greedy, they will have said yes to him. But some will give a second thought."
"Such as you?"
"I'm one of them. But the old man have more tricks. I told him that I'm willing to buy the gem with 2 billion, but he rejected. I think he might make concessions if I had insisted, so that he can make me believe that there are other gems.
And as long as I believe it, I will be happy to pay him money as much as I have."
Sienna stared at Finn and said, "But then?"
Finn continued to explain, "It was the girl that enabled me to realize it was a lie."
Sienna found it more wondering, but she didn't interrupt. She was just looking at Finn, which indicated that he should go on.
Finn understood her indication and continued, "It was strange that the girl could come in. We were talking about such an important thing. How could there no one guarding the door."
Sienna nodded.
Finn went on, "I couldn't tell whether the girl knows the secret of the gem at first. But when she was asked to get out, she looked at the gem weirdly. It indicated that she didn't know about it.
Her not knowing about the gem made me feel strange. The old man said the gem is his favorite, so he definitely would appreciate it frequently. It can't be a favorite thing if it's stored in a safe box forever."
