Lilia is frozen. She hasn’t moved an inch since Eamon slapped her.

Chapter 25
Sheer panic fills her face, like her entire world is crashing down around her.
And I suppose it is.
“She’s not the princess?!” One of the DarkWood elders says in the crowd.
“Is there even a princess of BloodyMoon?”
“Or was that a lie, too?” Some else yells angrily.
“I only just learned of this myself a few days ago.” Eamon says seriously. “But the princess is real.”
“Then who?”
“Who is the BloodyMoon princess?”
The crowd fires the questions at Eamon, practically drooling waiting for the answer to the questions. Waiting for the truth.
“The princess of Pack BloodyMoon is someone you all know. Someone you’ve taken in and raised as one of your own.”
No.
It can’t be.
There’s no way.
You know her as Cara Wilson.” Eamon stares directly at me as he says her name.
“…Cara?!” Someone yells.
“The Beta?”
“I thought she was an orphan!”
The noises from the crowd are deafening, but I can’t hear them. I can’t hear anything over the sound of blood rushing in my ears. Only Grey’s howl in my head is loud enough to overcome it.
Until Lilia screams.
It’s terrible, blood–curdling even. Her voice is filled with panic, rage, frustration, and every bad emotion I can think of.
