Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James) novel Chapter 107

Chapter 107
KAIDEN STIRLING
I woke up the next day surprisingly refreshed. It had been a while since I felt that way. With my mood lifted, I had a long warm bath and dressed up for work.
As I fixed my tie while standing before the mirror, I couldn’t help the smile that was plastered on my face. It was a look I had on since the previous day after re-reading Freda’s letter again. I had read it thrice.
Nicholas had encouraged me to go to the event saying it was for my son and could get a good impression of myself on Freda. It was a great idea.
I would get to meet my son as his father after so long and also work on how to co-parent with Freda. I didn’t like the thought of co-parenting but I had no option since I had a family already. The thought left a sour taste in my mouth, after everything Safiya had done lately, I couldn’t consider her family anymore.
A knock came at my door, prompting me to look away from the mirror, “Come in,”
The door was pushed open and my assistant stepped into the
room.
“Good morning, Alpha” He quipped with a slight bow. I hummed in response, nodding curtly while eyeing the envelope he had in his hand

“What is the matter?”
“Sir, this came for you before sunrise,” He explained, handing the envelope to me. I took it from him with narrowed eyes. Who would send me a letter that early in the morning?
Tearing open the envelope, my face lit up when I saw the sender’s name. Freda. I looked up only to see my assistant staring at me. He cowered back fearfully when he saw my hardened gaze then scurried out,
When he left, I opened the letter to read its contents. However, at each word, my smile kept dropping till the end of her write-up.
In the letter, she had asked me not to bother about attending Cisco’s events anymore. Why? What the f**k was this woman playing at?
The school management had clearly stated that both parents should be in attendance so why was she suddenly pushing me away? I felt a snap and my temper flared, did this have something to do with that male human?
“Freda, it better not be what I’m thinking” I gritted angrily, grabbing my coat from the bed and storming toward the door only to come face to face with Safiya.
I made to walk passed her but she blocked my path. She seemed to be in a good mood
“Kaiden, where you you going to in such a rush?” She asked, looking past my shoulder and I guess she saw the letter which I had dropped on the bed.
“Another letter?” She squinted, her jaw clenching, “Freda sent

another letter? How much more shameless can she get?”
“You better watch what you say, Safiya, today at least” I growled a warning to her and slammed the door shut, locking it with my keys so she wouldn’t get in even after I left.
The last thing I wanted, was her finding out about Cisco with such rage in her heart.
I pushed her out of my way and hurried down the stairs.
“Kaiden, where are you going? Don’t tell me you’re going to that woman?!” She was right behind me, snapping.
“Where I go is none of your business, all you should worry about is getting back into Harper’s good books, that’s if you have it on you!” I yelled and she halted, horrified at the tone I used.
Hissing, I left the house and got into the car. I mind-linked my assistant to take off things at the office before igniting the engine.
