Chapter 95
KAIDEN STIRLING
There, I said it.
The hall fell silent for a moment with everyone’s gazes falling on me. There were questions, apprehension, and anger mixed in their looks. That didn’t matter, I had kept this within me and watched enough of my mate being hurt. This was the last straw.
breathed a sigh of relief. This was the first time in years that I felt liberated. Speaking out the truth had lifted a weight off my shoulders. A burden, perhaps guilt or pain seemed to ease off my chest as well.
I didn’t give a s**t anymore and this meeting was over!
My eyes darted around leisurely and stopped on Freda who was staring at me with disappointment on her features yet something within me made me feel like she wasn’t really feeling that way.
I shrugged the thought off. It might have been Kai comforting. me. My eyes fell on Safiya briefly and as usual, she was frowning, eyes blazing with anger, hurt, and envy. I rolled my
eyes.
One of the council members cleared their throat very awkwardly. cutting through the eerie silence that had filled the room.
“What…” He looked in my direction but paused when he saw my hardened expression. He turned to Freda instead and I

narrowed my eyes at him. We should be done here right?
“Young lady, do you affirm with what the Alpha just revealed?” His question made me itch to get my hand wrapped around his neck but a part of me wanted to know what Freda hought so that was his luck.
All eyes fell on Freda. She heaved and with her chin held high, she cast each of us indifferent glances before responding, “I don’t think the Alpha would have a reason to lie. Do you?”
The man appeared taken aback by the question. Indeed, as the Alpha I would never lie about anything and he knew.
She then made her way toward the door but halted just before the exit and turned, a death glare in her eyes directed to Safiyal who was silently fuming.
“I believe after this you learn to dig deep into issues for proof before bringing them up, Luna” She mocked, “Also, stay away from me and my son” She warned, her tone fierce. With a defiant look, she walked out of the hall.
Murmurs broke out amongst the council members after she left and I knew after today, there would be a lot of gossip flying around but I didn’t care at least not for Safiya. She brought this upon herself.
“I believe we’re done here?” I asked and they agreed. After bidding their farewells, they left.
I returned to the pack house with Safiya trailing behind quietly. She was in shock at the turnout of events. I prayed she would remain that way all the or maybe forever but the moment we reached the living room, she let out an angry scream and

grabbed me by the arm.
I s**d my arm out of her grip and glared at her. Her eyes. were brimming with tears making her look pitiful but I won’t fall for that trick. Beneath all that joke was a shallow woman filled. with anger, hatred, and envy.
“Kaiden, why did you say that to the council? Did you do that to make a fool of me? Disgrace me?” She sniffled, “Well, it worked!” She yelled, angrily wiping her tears with the back of her palms.
I looked at her without interest, Safiya was one hell of a pathetic. woman. Till this moment, she was still thinking about herself despite being the one in the wrong.
“Instead of putting on this act Safiya, you should be grateful I didn’t mention to the council that you sent that pupil to testify against Cisco that day at the hospital” I stated and her eyes. widened as shock flashed through them.
A smirk tugged my lips as I watched her perturbed state. What did she think? That I hadn’t investigated the incident? Cisco is my son and if he was getting accused of something that outrageous, I would act on it the best way I could.
And for this, it turned out that Safiya was the one behind the testimony. I must admit however that she was fast with executing everything. Very pathetic!
“That’s absurd Kaiden… I didn’t…” She wanted to deny it but stopped when I took a step forward. “I’m not a fool, woman. You better shut it!”
One moment, she was scared and seemed to submit but the
next, she was back to her adamant and unrepentant self

“How did you know?” She asked, pretending to not be bothered but I knew better. She was clawing her arms with her manicured fingers and her breath was ragged. She was nervous and disturbed as hell and it was a sight worth savoring.
“I don’t think that should be your concern right now, you should be worried about what the council will do to you when they find out about it,” I said and she blinked, taking a step back.
“They won’t” She mumbled under her breath but thanks to my sharp senses, I heard her. Anger sizzled beneath my skin as I glared at her. “If I did, they can too and will also get to know how much you offered for the job to be done”
She looked up quickly, her shoulders fell in resignation. She peered at me as her lips moved desperate to utter a word but my overwhelming aura wouldn’t let her. My wolf and I felt offended and disgusted just by the sight of her.
“What do you think they’d do when they find out that the Luna of the pack has been scheming against a pack member?” I growled and she shuddered. Her lips quivered as she tried to speak but not a word came out. Good.
“You know what? Since you’re so sure you won’t be caught, I think I should just let them know about it myself” I stated and blood drained from her face.
