Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James) novel Chapter 98

Chapter 98
KAIDEN STIRLING
“You wouldn’t dare do that” Safiya screeched as color drained from her cheeks at my declaration. She obviously didn’t think I would find out about her actions.
“No I won’t, but don’t push me woman. The only reason I’m not telling the council that you were the one that convinced that kid to lie against Cisco is because of my reputation”.
“You have disgraced me too much, I don’t want to add another to the chart, so don’t think I’m showing you mercy. Let this be a warning, because I can change my mind any day”. I growled.
“All this because of Freda?” She scoffed. “What’s so special about Freda that you are neglecting your own Luna, Kaiden? You’re ready to throw your wife under the bus because of Freda?”, she asked in disbelief.
“Mind you woman. Freda would have been my real Luna if I wasn’t blinded by your schemes. Trust me I regret my actions till this day”.I disclosed firmly and Safiya’s face was red with anger as she began to speak..
“I hate the day Freda was brought into this life and if you think I would stop tormenting Freda then you are so wrong Kaiden”.
“I am going to find ways to ruin and destroy Freda that she’d wish she was dead. That kid I used against Cisco was just the beginning. Trust me” she yelled.

“Mummy did you really do that?” A tiny voice stated as the little figure walked into the room.
“Harper? What are you doing here sweetheart? You should be downstairs. Mummy and daddy are having a discussion honey”.
“I was downstairs daddy” she stated as she clutched her teddy bear. “But I heard noises coming from here and you and mummy were fighting”. She stated with tears in her eyes and I was filled with guilt.
Harper was a good kid. She didn’t deserve to see her parents act this way. “No honey, mummy and daddy were merely just sorting things out”, I said as I gave her a light smile.
“Yes honey” Safiya stated as she made to touch Harper but Harper moved away. “Stop it, both of you. I heard mummy say that she was the one who told that kid to lie against Cisco for something he didn’t do”. She yelled and I and Safiya froze.
“Umm, Harper what else did you hear?”I asked sweetly, I just hoped she didn’t hear the other declarations I and Safiya said.
“I only heard when mummy said just now that she was the one who told that boy to lie against Cisco” she sobbed and I heaved a sign of relief. ‘Thank you goddess’!
“Honey,i… It’s not true” Safiya stuttered as she tried to hold Harper but Harper pushed her away.
“Don’t touch me, you’re a liar” Harper yelled as tears rolled down her cheeks and I was too stunned to think of anything to say.
“I’m going to tell Cisco’s mum everything” Harper disclosed and Safiya’s eyes widened.

“No, Harper sweetie don’t do that honey, Cisco’s mum is a bad woman, she’s trying to destroy our family. All I did was for your own good”. Safiya stated and I scoffed.
“Safiya? Can you even hear yourself right now? After everything you’re still blaming Freda?” I asked and she glared at me hatefully.
“Harper honey don’t listen to anything anyone says, you should only believe your mother. Mummy knows best okay?” She asked as she made to touch Harper again.
“I said don’t touch me”. Harper yelled angrily. “Why would you do that to Cisco’s mummy? You know Cisco is my best friend yet you made his mother apologize and still disgraced her in front of everyone”.
“I hate you mummy, I hate you” Harper yelled as she cried harder and I was dumbfounded.
I couldn’t believe that Safiya would go so low to try and manipulate her daughter emotionally.
If only she had said sorry Harper would have forgiven her but she thought she could manipulate everyone to her side. If only she could realize that she wasn’t right all the time.
“Daddy are you going to take mummy’s side?”, Harper asked as she peered up at me with teary eyes. I glanced at Safiya and she looked at me expectantly as she gave me a small smile and I almost scoffed.
Safiya would never learn. I had given her many chances. While I wasn’t going to take Harper away from Safiya, I wasn’t going to influence her decision either.

“No Harper sweetie, mummy was wrong for what she did. So you can do whatever you please” stated as I gave her a small smile and Harper nodded and wiped her eyes slowly.
“Noo” Safiya screamed. “Kaiden, how could you say that to your own daughter? How could you willingly separate my daughter for me?”
“Hold it right there Safiya” I stated firmly. “Harper is quite old enough to decide what she wants and unlike you I realize that. I’m not going to manipulate my daughter to satisfy my own claims”. I stated and Safiya stumbled backwards in shock.
I turned to Harper. “Harper honey please give mummy and daddy some privacy”. I stated with a smile and Harper nodded and walked out.
I used my wolf senses to check if she was truly gone and when I was certain I turned to Safiya.
“Kaiden please talk to Harper, she can’t do this to me, I’m her mother” she croaked out as she sobbed softly.
“There’s nothing I can do Safiya. This is where your terrible behavior leads you. You pushed your daughter away with your own hands”.
“I can’t and I will not do anything to influence Harper because that would make me a manipulator. That’s the difference between you and me”.
“If only you weren’t so blinded by your so-called revenge. You would have seen that you were hurting the people around you that loved you”.

“I have always tolerated you Safiya but this time you have gone too far”. “Kaiden, please” she sobbed and I shook my head.
“It’s too late Safiya, our relationship is too broken to be mended and I know you can never repent. You have proved that to me countlessly and your act at the pack council proved it all”.
“What I didn’t think was that you would stoop so low to use your own daughter in your own games. That was so despicable, even for you” I stated.
I gave her one last glance and walked away. One thing was clear: Safiya and I could never have a happy marriage.
