Chapter 217
It seemed that Morgan knew Justin well after all.
The latest rumors had a great impact on Jessica and even the Hall family.
Yesterday, Morgan received two calls. The callers asked if he wanted to join forces with the Thomas Group.
That was why Jessica was so angry this time.
She was angry at Lucas not because he failed to stop Justin, but because he asked for her forgiveness when he didn‘t do anything to make up for her.
In the past, Jessica made Lucas the priority. That was the cause of their divorce.
Now, all the people in the upper–class society were laughing at Jessica, not for her colorful private life, but for her remarriage to Lucas within a year after her well–known divorce.
To be honest, many people looked down on Jessica.
Morgan only had one daughter. In the future, the huge Hall family was destined to be in her hands, so there were many people who wanted to marry Jessica.
However, Jessica turned back to her ex–husband. That was why people looked down upon her.
When a powerless woman married Thomas, people would admire her for her guts, since she managed to change her
social status through marriage. They might gossip about her being too sophisticated, though.
Jessica had everything, but she was about to remarry her ex–husband after the divorce.
On the surface, people said the two were a perfect match since Jessica loved Lucas and Lucas was such an accomplished young man.
But deep down?
They were all talking about how silly Jessica was. By remarrying Lucas, the Thomas family would have everything the Hall family possessed now.
Morgan could guess these words without hearing them.
However, it was tricky to clarify what was going on now.
Morgan knew that Justin would not waste such a good opportunity given the timing.
As expected, this morning, Morgan received a call from Justin.
“Good morning, Mr. Hall!”
Hearing Justin‘s voice, Morgan put on a grim face.
Justin was put on speaker, so May‘s face darkened as well.
The two families hadn‘t completely fallen out yet, so Morgan still replied, “Mr. Thomas, how are you doing?”
“Mr. Hall, thank you for asking. I‘ve been a little exhausted these days. I guess when you are old, you are old.”
Morgan sneered. May glanced at Morgan and whispered in his ear, “He has lived long enough!”
Morgan looked at his wife and felt much better. He hugged May and comforted her.
Morgan comforted May while saying to Justin, “You are far from being old, aren‘t you?”
Justin, who was on the other side of the line, laughed. The two of them pretended to be polite for a while.
