Returning from the Dead: His Secret Lover novel Chapter 786

“Ms. Hayes, did you notice something?” the bodyguard asked when he realize she was staring intently.

Sabrina didn’t reply.

For a fleeting moment, she felt the urge to expose the perpetrator. Whoever dared to harm her had to pay.

However, the thought of her suffering brother in the room behind them caused her to hold her tongue. Swallowing her words, her clenched fingers began to relax.

“Mmm-hmm. I’m done with it. I might have fallen by accident as I had too much to drink yesterday.”

“I see. In that case, please have a good rest.”

The bodyguards didn’t suspect anything further after watching the video feeds.

With that, they took their leave.

As for Sabrina, she stayed back and waited for Sebastian to calm down in the room.

She knew she had to endure whatever that was thrown at her. Only by doing so could she stay back and care for her brother.

Feeling tormented, she took out her phone.

Sabrina: How was your operation? Was it successful?

A long while passed before a voice clip was received.

Sabrina put it on speaker.

Sasha replied, “Yes it was. But, I can’t open my eyes yet. So, I’m sending you voice messages instead.”

“That’s good. You should rest if it’s not convenient to talk.”

Meanwhile, over at Jetroina, Sasha had her face bandaged and was barely able to speak. When she realized Sabrina was going to end their conversation, she quickly sent another recording over. “Wait, how are things at your end? Is your brother… all right?”

Yes, how is he? It’s been five days since then. Will he be able to resist his addiction?

As a doctor, Sasha was cognizant about how hard it was. Hence, she was extremely worried.

However, she didn’t expect Sabrina to send her a voice message all of a sudden.

“Sasha, will you sing a song with me?”

Sasha was stumped.

“Anything will do. Someone set me up in this wretched place. The f*cking Jadesons are terrible people. So, sing a song to comfort me please.”

Together with the voice message, she attached a picture of her hands being wrapped with bandages.

Sasha was outraged by the picture.

Those animals!

After taking a moment to calm down, Sasha brought up her phone and began to record a song, enduring the pain while singing.

“Waiting for the time to pass you by, Hope the winds of change will change your mind…”

As Sasha’s therapeutic voice rang out from the phone, it felt as if she was holding one’s face and lifting one out of the dark abyss.
