However, Sophie Kenwick quickly shook her head. “That’s fine, I don’t mind. I’m more than willing to be your bodyguard.”

“How could I let my sister-in-law be my bodyguard? Naturally, you should stay at home and live like a princess,” Xyla told her.

“Have you forgotten that the god said I must protect you? How could I protect you at all times if I stayed at home?”

Xyla had no retort.

“It’s been decided. I’m sure my brother will be fine with it, right?” Sophie asked as she glanced innocently at Stanley, who was next to her.

He smiled. “Yeah, as long as you’re happy.”

Xyla shook her head. “You two are ridiculous.”

“How else will this work?” Sophie asked.

Xyla didn’t know what to say, not seeing any other alternative.

After letting out a long and helpless sigh, Xyla nodded. She then pinched her forehead in exhaustion.

Sophie cheered up immensely when she saw her succumb. She was just glad she could see her brother again, even though he looked different than what she remembered.

He was still her brother.

Ever since Sophie met Xyla, she felt less lonely. Then, now that she found her brother, she finally had a true sense of belonging.
