Annabeth smiled a little with an awkward expression on her face. “Yeah, I knew. I just never asked.”

Josh carefully plopped her down on his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Hmm, then I think I need to give you a proper explanation to avoid any misunderstanding between us.”

“It’s fine. I understand how you feel. There is no misunderstanding between us. Josh, I really can relate,” she assured him.

“There you go, calling me 'Josh' again. Call me 'Honey'.”

“Okay, Honey.” Annabeth was very compliant.

“Good. Don’t speak for now, but listen to what I have to say, okay? Indeed, I used to like Xyla a lot, so much, I thought I would never fall in love with anybody else.

“I thought I might even stay single for the rest of my life, but then, you came along.
