Susan got into Henry's car.
The air fell into dead silence as Susan unusually chose to keep her mouth shut.
While driving, Henry felt like speaking. But after some consideration, he held it back.
Now there was a real embarrassment between them.
Meanwhile, he also worried that Susan would ask him for the reason why he refused to sleep with her.
So he would rather keep silent on the way.
The car stopped for a few times on the road and then kept going.
Suddenly, Henry's phone rang.
He picked it up, "Hello?"
"This is Manuel speaking. Come to my office when you return."
Henry turned into a serious expression.
Manuel was his superior, for which he had been bearing a grudge.
"OK."
Then the phone was hung up.
Susan noticed the change in his expression.
"Manuel told me to come to his office when I return."
"What for?"
"He didn't tell."
"Are you driving me home now?" watching outside the window, Susan speculated.
"Yes."
"Head for the office first. I am feeling much better now." Said Susan.
Henry turned to look at her.
Susan explained composedly, "I don't wanna get your work delayed. Besides, my dad doubted if I was sick. I gotta go to his office and show him how I look."
"... OK." Henry nodded.
Meanwhile, he was rather aware that her feelings for Manuel started changing bit by bit.
He swore he would never let it happen.
Then he kept driving in silence.
As they arrived, Susan went to her dad's office while Henry to Manuel's.
Henry pushed the door open and saw Manuel working on his desk.
Before Manuel started to work here, Henry had been praised as an excellent example of diligence and great capability. However, since Manuel was inducted into the office, more and more people started to shift their compliments to him.
He knew Manuel was here on purpose to rob him of glory from the office.
He walked over to sit opposite him, "Mr Johnson, what can I do for you?"
"Well." Manuel simply nodded while typing swiftly.
He got to admit that he was stunned when seeing how fast Manuel typed.
He wouldn't believe it if it weren't for the fact that he saw it with his own eyes.
But then he faked a composed look as if he noticed nothing and simply sat still to wait for Manuel.
After tying up the loose ends, Manuel turned off the laptop and spoke to Henry, "Let me go straight to the topic. We have offered you a lot to persuade you to break up with Susan. As for the money and the immovable property, just take them as a free gift for you. However, as for the fixed shares of 20%, you should return them after you restart your relationship with Susan."
But now it turned out that he was much more unpredictable than he had ever expected.
…
Hannah was a bit upset on Tuesday because Oscar was leaving tomorrow morning.
The time to spend together with him felt much shorter than expected while the duration of departure felt much longer.
Sitting in the office, Hannah dialled Oscar's number.
"Honey?" Oscar answered as usual.
Now Hannah was used to the way he addressed her.
"Will you work overtime tonight?"
"No. But there is a social dinner tonight and there follows a second occasion after that. I will be back ASAP."
"Okay." Hannah sounded rather upset.
She had decided not to work overtime and spent the night together with him before he left tomorrow. However, she didn't expect Oscar got some social occasions to attend.
"My flight tomorrow is at 10 AM. I can drive you to the office first before heading to the airport." Oscar noticed her upset.
Luckily, this time, at least she knew Oscar wouldn't be leaving before she woke up.
"Why is the flight so late this time?" she asked out of curiosity.
"Because I don't wanna leave you."
"So you mean you wanna leave me back into the old days?"
"No…you will know why someday." Oscar didn't answer directly.
She hated it when he tried to fudge it. However, she didn't expect Oscar did have his reasons.
