If it were any other man, he wouldn't be able to remain so calm in this situation. But Stanley managed to hold it in.
It wasn't that he didn't love Selena. Anyone who had seen how he had taken care of the girl since she was young would never doubt the deep affection Stanley held for her. She was someone he cherished and loved deeply.
But when he saw Selena get engaged to another man before his very eyes, he not only held back his emotions, but also managed to keep his composure in front of her.
This kind of self-control was both powerful and terrifying.
Black Crow couldn't help but shiver when he remembered Stanley's expression upon hearing about Selena's engagement with another man.
He turned to White Crow and asked, "Did we make a mistake?"
If they had told Stanley about Selena's situation in Creephia earlier, they couldn't be sure who she would end up with.
White Crow looked at the fading figures of Stanley and Selena walking side by side and shook his head after a long pause. "He just lost to bad timing."
If Selena hadn't died on the battlefield, she would have most likely married Stanley after she grew up. If Stanley had found out earlier that Selena was reborn in Creephia, he might have had a chance to find her and bring her back. But he was, in the end, a step too late.
...
As soon as Osvaldo left the mansion, his expression turned cold.
In his plan, Stanley wouldn't arrive in the capital until tomorrow at the earliest. But something unexpected must have happened along the way, causing him to arrive a day early.
But the result wasn't too bad.
Selena was already engaged to him, and given her temperament, even if Stanley were to confess his feelings to her now, he would only be met with rejection.
Osvaldo took out his phone and called Luke.
Luke had no idea that his brother's night with his mistress was about to be ruined and joked, "Why do you have time to call me now?"
For tonight, Osvaldo gave all the servants in the villa a day off, leaving only him and Selena. On such a beautiful and romantic night, Osvaldo, true to his nature, would not waste it on unrelated matters.
His tone was cold as he spoke, "There was an unexpected incident on the federal. Stanley arrived in the capital earlier and found out about it!"
With Selena's identity already exposed, any unusual incident could potentially endanger her.
Luke's tone instantly became serious as he replied, "I understand."
Stanley's special status in the alliance made it difficult to investigate him. However, when it came to Selena's safety, no matter the cost, they had to uncover the truth of the incident.
Furthermore, Stanley had arrived in the capital tonight, and Luke was unaware of it. This was also his negligence.
With Stanley here, Selena was sure to have no mood to talk love with Osvaldo. This opportunity that he had been eagerly waiting for was gone... it was quite tragic.
Afraid of Selena being harmed, Luke promptly hung up the phone and got to work.
Osvaldo stood in the dark for a moment and then turned to look at the courtyard behind him, his eyes deep.
He remembered the hug that Stanley had given Selena.
If not for his strong self-control, he almost couldn't resist attacking him on the spot.
He didn't intervene because he knew that Selena needed that hug, but only this once!
No one could take his wife away from him!
...
Inside the mansion, Selena sat down on the sofa in the hall and looked up at Stanley.
Stanley habitually walked to the side, helped her with a cup of warm water, placed it in front of her, and then sat across from her.

The readers' comments on the novel: Revenge On Love Rats After Rebirth by Olivia Marsh
From the beginning of the story to page 148, the plot is just going in circles about fighting. So ridiculous and waste of time to read! I have no patience for these kind stories. Be more creative if you’re planning to write a book/story!!!...
Beautiful story...
