The argument between the two unfolded right in front of me. I stood there helplessly and watched as the two bickered back and forth. 

I’d only started to regret as I saw Mr. Odom getting angrier with his face tuming red in fury. Not only had Natalya disrupted the situation, but I’d also missed the perfect opportunity. 

Now that he was so riled up, it was clear that he had no intention of discussing any potential collaboration. It seemed from his reaction that he was resistant to the idea of a collaboration. I’d only be adding fuel to the fire if I were to bring it up now.

“There’s a little trouble on my end, and the project can’t proceed. I’m afraid the whole thing might fall through if we don’t come up with a solutions 

Mr. Mitchell refused to help, and now that we had this new hurdle, I feared the project might be at risk of collapsing altogether if we couldn’t work things out. 

“I figured he might not be willing to help, but I didn’t expect this trouble. I heard he has a fondness for coffee. Do you have the box I gave you earlier?” 

Liam’s question seemed to test if I’d done my research and was gauging my level of readiness, but I’d surely brought the gift along. 

“He got into a fight with someone else, so this isn’t the right time to approach him now. I need a better time to discuss the collaboration. In the meantime, could you work on a backup plan? I asked, knowing some things were beyond my control. 

Liam seemed to understand how 1 felt and agreed to it. 

After spending more time strolling around, I gained a deeper understanding of Mr. Odom’s personality. I conducted further research after returning home. 

It turned out that he’d previously collaborated with a corrupt businessman, who’d used his designs for illicit activities. How could he not have felt deeply hurt to see the work he’d poured all his heart and soul into being used for criminal activities? 

Each of his works was a reflection of his soul bom through fire and water. Knowing that it was disrespected and trampled upon drained him of his creative power. I knew I’d have to wait atter missing this chance like a hunter lying in wait for the right moment.
