Alicia had no idea why Vincent was angry—or what had set him off this time.
She didn't dare provoke her benefactor, so she simply followed in silence.
At the airport arrivals gate, Felix was waiting. When he saw Tyrone storm out with a thunderous expression, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Lynch, you don't look so well…"
"It's two in the morning, do you expect me to be all smiles? Why are you so chatty?" Tyrone snapped, his tone low and irritable as he climbed into the car.
He acted like a spoiled heiress in a fit—if there'd been a dog nearby, it probably would've gotten a kick.
Felix lowered his voice, glancing at Alicia. "What's up with Mr. Lynch?"
Alicia could only give him a helpless shake of her head.
How would she know what had upset Miss Lynch this time…
Once Felix got in, he heard Tyrone's frosty order from the backseat: "Teach her the proper rules for being a wife."
Was it acceptable to hand out your husband's contact info to scheming women?
Felix misunderstood what Tyrone meant. He assumed Alicia, as a sugar baby, wasn't living up to expectations, and decided he'd have to give her a crash course in how to please a patron.
Back at the townhouse, Tyrone ignored Alicia completely and headed straight upstairs.
Alicia let out a weary sigh.
Of course—earning thirty million dollars a year was never going to be easy.
"Miss Shelton, our Mr. Lynch… well, his temper isn't exactly easy to deal with." Felix offered her a look of genuine sympathy and patted her on the shoulder. "Sorry you have to go through this. But since Mr. Lynch asked, I should go over a few things with you."
He cleared his throat, thinking of all the unwritten rules in Harboridge's elite circles—how the wealthy kept their mistresses in check. "First, you're here on a business arrangement. You need to be clear about your place. Be smart—don't pry into his private life, and definitely don't develop feelings for him."
