It was a long time before he finally spoke. "We didn't know if Serena would ever wake up, so I never told Melanie. And even now, Serena's still struggling with severe depression—her emotions and state of mind are all over the place. I'd rather not tell Melanie for now. No point in making her worry, or getting her hopes up."
Alicia nodded.
Tyrone was doing it for Melanie's sake.
Still, Alicia couldn't help but feel that something this important shouldn't be kept secret.
But Tyrone had made his decision, and it wasn't her place to press further.
Afterward, Tyrone took a quick shower, then pulled Alicia into bed with him, hoping to catch up on some much-needed sleep.
She nestled obediently in his arms, not making a sound, afraid to disturb him.
"You don't need to worry about my father or any of his nonsense. I'll handle everything," Tyrone said, his voice rough and heavy with exhaustion as he held her close.
"Tyrone…" Alicia lifted her head and looked at him. "Did you ever live in Grandcrest City before?"
He stiffened for a moment, then opened his eyes and glanced down at her, his gaze deep and unreadable. "Yeah…"
"That's funny. When I was twelve, I lived in Harboridge City for a while too."
Alicia gave him a gentle smile, then snuggled closer, wrapping her arms around him. "Get some rest, okay? Your eyes are all bloodshot…"
She softly patted his back, soothing him like a child.
Tyrone swallowed hard. How was he supposed to sleep now?
He was exhausted, but right now, what he wanted most was her.
"Let's have a baby," Tyrone murmured, rolling over and pinning Alicia beneath him before kissing her hungrily.
His kiss was fierce and demanding, leaving Alicia breathless and helpless to resist.
Nervous, she reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Rule number one from Molly's handbook: Never be a buzzkill sugar baby.
The patron's wishes always came first.
So, Alicia tried to be proactive, even if her clumsy response only inflamed Tyrone all the more.
Her mind grew hazy; she couldn't even remember when her clothes had been torn away.
