Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 236

“No,” Alicia whispered, shaking her head.

“Thank God…” Tyrone breathed out, his grip on Alicia’s hand tightening with quiet relief.

Alicia lost all control over her tears. She sobbed for what felt like hours, soaking Tyrone’s shoulder as he held her. He said nothing, just waited patiently until she finally quieted, then gently wiped the tears from her face.

“Maybe this just wasn’t meant to be,” he murmured. “We’ll have another child someday. Right now, you need to focus on getting your strength back and on your studies. That’s what matters most. Maybe this is how things were meant to work out, you know?”

Alicia hiccupped, nodding, her eyes searching his face with hesitant hope. “You really think… we’ll have another?”

Tyrone nodded. “Yes. We will.”

She let out a shaky breath, clinging to the edge of his shirt. “I don’t know why I’m falling apart like this. I’m not even the one who’s physically hurt—only the baby’s gone…”

Tyrone’s heart twisted; he pulled her close again. “You’re what matters most to me. Always.”

He’d never been fixated on having a child. If anything, wanting a baby had been more about holding onto Alicia—and keeping his father’s complaints at bay.

Just then, the door swung open. Serena hurried in, her eyes red and rimmed with tears. Her voice trembled as she pleaded, “Tyrone, you’re back… You know I’ve never asked you for anything. Alicia, please—can’t you just drop the charges? Melanie’s still a student, her whole life ahead of her. If this goes to trial, she’ll be locked up. She’ll lose everything.”

Serena chose her words with care, skirting the fact that Melanie had called the police herself, focusing only on what suited her case. To anyone listening, she sounded heartbreakingly sincere.

“Did Melanie think about ruining her own life when she pushed someone down the stairs?” Tyrone’s voice was cold, unyielding. “If she’s capable of something like that, what’s next—something even worse? Ms. Sinclair, you know as well as I do: when you make a mistake, you face the consequences.”

“But can’t we settle this as a family?” Serena pleaded, tears streaming down her face as she turned to Alicia. “You’ve known Melanie since she was little, Tyrone. You watched her grow up. Alicia, even if you don’t care about her, can’t you at least do this for Tyrone’s sake?”
