Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 307

But Alicia knew she would have to give this matter serious thought.

The old man was getting on in years, and as death crept closer, his actions grew more erratic.

He feared Tyrone was becoming too powerful—so much so that after his own death, Tyrone might threaten Marcus Lynch and Easton. So he did everything in his power to keep Tyrone and Easton's influence in check, working tirelessly to prop Easton up while trying to undermine Tyrone. It was his twisted way of maintaining balance, of preventing the family from tearing itself apart.

Alicia thought he was being foolish, but people near the end were often the most stubborn. It reminded her of how Emperor Augustus, in his final years, was said to have made one rash decision after another—executing loyal friends, driving his own son to rebellion.

Alicia didn’t want to see Tyrone and the old man at each other’s throats. But if she left, would the old man really let Tyrone go?

“Alicia, think it over,” Vincent said, then promptly hung up the phone.

Alicia sat rigidly in her chair, staring at the untouched dinner on the table, her appetite gone.

Suddenly, her stomach churned. She bolted to the bathroom and barely made it before she was sick.

Her heart was pounding. Fumbling for her phone, Alicia checked her calendar—her period was late. Of course it was.

She got up, hurried to the bedroom, and dug out a pregnancy test. Sitting on the edge of the bathtub, she waited anxiously for the result.

Her nerves were shot.

Maddox was becoming reckless, and if she really was pregnant, the old man would never allow this baby to be born. If the child came into the world, it would mean Tyrone’s claim to the Lynch family inheritance was secure. That would spell the end for Easton and his father.

Her hands trembled as she waited, watching as a faint second line appeared on the stick. Alicia’s heart sank.

She was pregnant—just as she suspected. It seemed she was always so quick to conceive.

Pressing her palm to her forehead, Alicia’s panic grew.

Should she tell Tyrone?
