Jade’s mother shuffled over, muttering under her breath, “Your grandfather’s health is already fragile, and he’s still running off to Seaview City for some big project. Honestly, what is he thinking?”

Jade’s face clouded with worry. “Grandpa keeps refusing to let Nicole officially join the family… won’t call a press conference either. He always claims it’s for health reasons, but now he can travel all the way to Seaview City, and still won’t make an announcement?”

A spike of panic shot through her. She quickly dialed Nicole. “Grandpa’s gone to Seaview City. Did he meet you?”

“What? Grandpa’s in Seaview City?” Nicole sounded surprised.

Jade hung up abruptly, anxiety tightening in her chest. She turned to Brandon. “Dad, do you think Grandpa suspects Nicole’s real identity?”

Brandon’s brow furrowed. “Find out. See who he met with in Seaview City.”

The White family was at a critical juncture. Reginald had only days left; if they wanted control of the inheritance, they had to act fast.

If the old man actually managed to find the real Nicole…

“Mr. White!” Brandon’s assistant burst through the door, lowering his voice as he hurried to Brandon’s side. “You asked me to look into the hitman from all those years ago… He was arrested for murder and diagnosed with mental illness. They locked him up in a psychiatric hospital—he’s still there now.”

Brandon’s eyes darkened, his jaw clenched. “Perfect. We should have dealt with him for good back then. Now, he has to die. Get someone to finish him off. But before that, make him talk—find out what happened to Nicole, whether she’s dead or alive.”

The assistant nodded, determination in his eyes. “Yes, sir.”
