Nicole was probably itching to kick Tyrone while he was down.

After all, Tyrone had just been kicked out of Lynch Corporation.

“Can I help you?” Alicia opened the door and looked at Nicole.

Nicole was brimming with arrogance, a smug smile on her lips. “Alicia, I’m sure you’ve heard—Tyrone’s no longer the heir to Lynch Corporation, right?”

Alicia didn’t bother to respond.

Nicole pressed on, her tone casual but her eyes glinting. “He’s not entirely out of options, though. If he marries me, according to the agreement Maddox left behind, he could still inherit Lynch Corporation. Not only that, he’d get the entire White family estate as well.” Nicole was here to throw him a lifeline—or so she thought.

She pictured Tyrone jumping at the opportunity, desperate to claw his way back in.

Tyrone was a businessman. He understood leverage and what was on the table.

“Tyrone, have you made up your mind?” Nicole asked triumphantly when Tyrone appeared.

“Who let this yapping stray into my house?” Tyrone wrapped an arm around Alicia and closed the door in Nicole’s face. “What a nuisance.”

He couldn’t even be bothered to put on a polite front anymore. Just seeing Nicole annoyed him.

Alicia chuckled. “Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider? Her offer is tempting.”

Tyrone gave her a look. “After everything I’ve been through, you think I’d end up marrying her? Have a little faith in me, sweetheart.”

Alicia quickly backtracked, coaxing him. “Alright, alright, I was wrong.”

A slow smile spread across Tyrone’s lips as he drew Alicia into his arms. “If you’re wrong, shouldn’t there be consequences?”

She nodded obediently.

Tyrone scooped her up and headed for the bedroom. “Tomorrow, I’m taking you to the hospital for a checkup…”

Alicia’s cheeks flushed red. She buried her face and mumbled, “Okay…”
