From the appearance of the God-King Palace’s martial artists to Tobias, who was levitating in mid-air, James immediately knew this was not truly him.
It was Thea in disguise. After all, only the God-King token which she possessed could mobilize the men of the God-King Palace.
“Are they here to save me?”
James calmed down.
Thea must have impersonated Tobias and brought the God-King Palace here at Mount Littleroot to save him. One could also surmise that Tobias had given up on him and Maxine to avoid antagonizing the Blithe family.
In the air…
Thea, who was impersonating Tobias, pointed his sword at Donovan and said coldly, “Donovan Blithe, where is James? Hand him over at once. Otherwise, blood will be spilled.”
“Kill!”
Below, the Four Protectors, the Ten Elders, the Thirty-Seven Stars, and the Seventy-Two Demons cried out in unison. It was a deafening cry, and the crowd unconsciously took a few steps back.
Thea was nervous.
This was a last resort.
If Donovan compromised, war could be averted. However, if he did not, blood would be spilled. Although the God-King Palace was powerful, their ranks were not as high as the Blithes. If a battle broke out, they could be defeated.
Besides that, her identity would be exposed. By then, the Blithes would be emboldened. They would not hesitate to annihilate her, Maxine, and everyone from the God-King Palace.
Though she was extremely nervous, her face remained composed.
Donovan’s face darkened. The Blithes were not afraid of a fight. However, even if they could defeat them, they would suffer immense losses.
Regardless, with so many eyes fixed on him, he could not compromise.
