As long as James could help him escape, Lord Samsong was willing to give him anything. James taunted him. “Do you remember taking away the Light of Acme and leaving me to face the powerful beast alone? I went through hell to kill that beast.”
Lord Samsong hurriedly explained himself, “You’ve got it all wrong! I actually wanted to go back to save you, but I got trapped in a dangerous place and couldn’t escape. If I could leave, I would’ve definitely gone back and helped you kill that beast.”
James did not believe a word from Lord Samsong’s mouth. He spoke nonchalantly, “I’m giving you two options.”
“What are they?” Lord Samsong looked at James.
James said, “I’ll leave you to fend for yourself. In your current state, there’s no way you can escape this place.”
Lord Samsong hurriedly asked, “What’s the second option?”
James replied, “Submit to me and obey my orders. If you betray me, don’t expect a single shred of mercy.”
“I…” Lord Samsong hesitated conflictingly. He was a Ninth Stage Lord, and the ruler of Triple Star Welkin which was one of the Dark World’s Nine Heavens. Having to submit to another was a fate worse than death.
As he weighed his options, James turned around and left the area.
As soon as James had disappeared, Quiomars reapproached as a ferocious monster and charged toward Lord Samsong. Terrified, Lord Samsong shouted hysterically, “Don’t go, Forty-nine! Don’t leave me! I’ll follow your orders! I’ll submit!”
James smirked, turned around, and walked forward. He instantly appeared before Lord Samsong and faked an attack against Quiomars, who was disguised as a monster. Quiomars followed his cues and pretended to be blasted away.
James looked at Lord Samsong, sitting weakly on the ground, and said, “I’m warning you, if you dare to disobey me, it won’t end well for you.”
After speaking, James raised his hand, and mysterious sigils materialized. The sigils sank into Samsong’s body.
A mighty Lord like Samsong immediately knew what the sigils were for. James now had control over his soul and would be immediately notified if Samsong harbored thoughts of betrayal. In that event, James could set off the sigil, and blow Samsong to bits instantly.
