James did not ask everyone else to evacuate simply to flaunt his strength. Rather, he wanted to obtain their approval and pave the way for him to take control of the Doom Race. Once he assumes control, the Human Race would have a chance to re-establish themselves in the Greater Realms.
However, the creatures that escaped did not appreciate James’ sacrifice. They prioritized themselves and their own survival.
While James faced the enemies alone, the creatures united to attack the formation. Their powerful force struck the formation, and cracks appeared, spreading out on the formation. However, the formation was multilayered, and their strength was only enough to destroy the innermost layer of the formation. It was impossible for them to completely shatter it.
Moreover, the formation would instantaneously repair any damage inflicted on it.
Right after, a devastating force swept out of the formation. Many of the creatures were injured by the aftershock.
Meanwhile, James was still surrounded by the twelve death spirits. The Devouring Demon was reigning them in. Although Youri ordered him to kill James and the other participants, the Devouring Demon knew that James possessed the Chaos Sacred Art, and he wanted it.
Under normal circumstances, an opponent’s treasures would be destroyed if they were in battle. As such, he acted prudently.
The Devouring Demon grew impatient and roared, “I’m giving you one last chance, Wyot. My patience is at its limits. If you don’t hand it over, I’ll obliterate you.”
He pointed the long sword formed by the Light of Acme at James, and power filled the air.
Although James had already entered the Omniscience Path, he still felt a crushing pressure bear down on him. Small injuries began to form throughout his body.
