"I think you’ve forgotten about me," said the mysterious being with a smile.
James smiled back. "If you’re Wynton, then everything makes sense."
At that, the mysterious being laughed. "You must be very surprised."
Just as James was about to speak, Zella covered her mouth and exclaimed, "Wynton, h-how can you be..."
"Zella, we share a deep connection," Wynton said, looking at her. "In the past, you were a prophet, and I was a prelife. We experienced being siblings, and life and death together.
"I miss those days. I have faith in your prophetic abilities. I hope you can..."
"No," Zella immediately cut him off.
Wynton frowned. "So, you’re going to follow him."
"This has nothing to do with him," Zella said clearly. "It’s because of your actions."
Wynton shrugged. "Did I not treat you well enough?
"In the past realm, aside from you, the rest of the envoys became Alcide puppets of the past. Only you protected yourself with your main self. I’ve never made things difficult for you."
"So, should I thank you for that?" Zella retorted coldly. "But it was my humiliation."
Wynton shuddered at her words. He then turned his gaze to James.
"James, you’re amazing. With your charm, you have good relationships with all the women."
James still didn’t say anything. He merely lifted his wine glass in a toast before drinking it all.
"But I have to tell you something," Wynton said, staring at James. "For us, who have become the Lords of the Haleth Realm and Sacred Spirits, emotions are the most unreliable.
"Because we can control all the divine beings of the Haleth Realm. We can do everything, know everything. We are everywhere.
"To gain favor from us, people will do anything, including using emotions."
Wynton sighed. "So, heaven and earth are unkind, and all beings are considered lowly. As Lords, we should be ruthless in our actions."
He looked at James with relish. "People like you, who act emotionally and rely on loyalty, are the real harm and injustice to the Haleth Realm."
