Meanwhile, at the Cansington Military Region...
In an open area, a helicopter was at the ready.
On the ground beneath the helicopter…
“James, congratulations on regaining your former position! Now you’re off to the Southern Plains to resume your command of the Black Dragon Army. If the news gets out, the people of Sol will seethe with excitement.” The Blithe King laughed as he patted James’ broad shoulders.
James, however, had a look of resignation on his face.
Regaining a former position may have appeared to be a good thing, but the higher the rank, the greater the burden. Furthermore, once he was in command of the Black Dragon Army, he would have to lead them into the Capital, obtain the Blade of Justice and kill the Emperor.
What would happen after the Emperor's death was still unknown.
“I’m hoping nothing major happens after this,” he said apprehensively.
“What could possibly happen?” The Blithe King chuckled. “In any case, if something goes wrong, someone higher up will take care of it. You don’t need to be concerned.”
“You’ll be returning to the Southern Plains with me,” James said to the Elite Eight.
“Yes.”
The Elite Eight responded in unison.
Then, he turned to Blake and said, “You’ll resume your command of the Dark Castle.”
Blake rubbed his hands together and asked, “Ja… Dragon King, what about the thing you promised me?”
James knew exactly what Blake was requesting.
“Don't fret. I’ll resume my research after I finish off the Emperor. Then, when I’m thoroughly done with it, I’ll pass it on to you.”
James had just received the second volume of the medical book and had not yet thoroughly studied it. Besides, he could not possibly give Blake the complete version of the book. He needed to read through it, improve it, and give him a simplified version.
