James realized he had lost his composure and sat down again, asking, “Blithe King, is this news confirmed?”
The Blithe King replied, “Of course, it’s true. Although I’m of a collateral lineage, this news has spread throughout our entire family. I also heard the Blithes are planning to reveal themselves to the world. I’m telling you this because you’re from the Cadens and are also acquainted with Maxine.”
“Huff!” James sighed.
He never expected the Cadens to have a marriage with the Blithes, and the Blithes’ background surprised him even more.
The Blithe King looked at James. “James…”
James noticed his hesitant expression and said, “Go ahead.”
“Although I’m from the Blithes, I’m not qualified to cultivate True Energy. I’m old and don’t expect to master Internal Martial Arts, but I have a son who’s turning eighteen this year. Since you’re from the Cadens and have cultivated True Energy… Could you possibly give him a few pointers?”
The Blithe King had never asked anyone for anything.
Still, he chose to ask James for a favor.
To outsiders, he was a successful and accomplished man. However, in his family, he had no status whatsoever.
His son was mistreated in the Blithes and was ordered around like a servant. He did not want his son to live like that forever.
Only by practicing martial arts could his son gain their respect and a chance to save his wife, who was locked in the family prison.
“Sure.” James smiled.
The Blithe King had helped him many times, and such a small request was not a big deal.
“However, you know of my current situation. I’ll see to it after I settle these troubles.”
“Thank you.” The Blithe King stood up and held James’ hand ecstatically.
“Come on. This is nothing for a relationship like ours. You don’t have to thank me.” James grinned.
