Hank and Prudence were also stunned. Try as they may, they couldn't regain their composure because they thought Nathan was just bluffing. Nathan really is the Chief Military Governor!
Right then, Nathan was still calm and collected as usual. He stood up and shook hands with Zach. “Hi, Zach. You're here too?”
Zach smiled and uttered, “Chief Military Governor, you're on a killing spree in Volk, and you've made the country proud! Now that you've returned, I obviously have to drink with you to celebrate.”
Only then did Penny and her family find out what Nathan was up to in the past few days. He's been through hell and back, and he's won!
Nathan had always been low-profile and disliked events such as celebratory parties. If any other of his subordinates were to approach him and celebrate with him, he would've punished them badly. However, this was Zach.
Zach was different because not only was he the commander-in-chief of the South Army, but he was also the Maritime God of War of Eurasia. He was indeed one of the main pillars of the military.
Hence, unlike the others, Zach was to be respected.
“Well, it has been a while since I drank with you, Zach. Since it's such a lively scene, we should drink!” Nathan flashed a smile.
Zach burst into laughter and ordered his subordinates, “Quick! Bring in all the exquisite alcohol from the car! The Chief Military Governor and I are going to drink till we drop!"
“Yes, Admiral Hill!” The subordinates left to fetch the alcohol.
“Zach, hold on. I have something I need to settle first,” Nathan uttered flatly.
With that, Nathan threw a glance at Zyon, who was cowering in fear.
“Are you still doubting my identity?” Nathan asked.
Zyon was so terrified that his knees had gone weak. He knelt on the ground and said with his trembling voice, “No. Not anymore... Chief Military Governor, I was too ignorant. I'm begging you to forgive me.
Please.”
