Chapter 21 

Cedric massaged the center of his brows and sincerely repented for his ignorance and naivety in the past. 

“Both of us are not that active and outgoing. Yet, why are our kids always so energetic?” 

Jolene was the most suitable person to comment on that. She fixed her gaze on Cedric and shared her remarks in a stern tone. 

“Wasn’t it your fault for being too lax on them? You always helped them get out of things whenever I tried to lecture them a little. How do you expect them to be docile and obedient when you keep doing that? If you ask me, you’re the one who’s gotten yourself into this predicament!” 

Cedric dared not utter a word upon being reprimanded. 

His driver, Kyle, let out a hearty laugh after seeing how Cedric remained silent despite getting scolded. 

“Mrs. Norwood, ever since you married Mr. Norwood, I could see that he’s slowly losing his authority as the head of the family with every passing day! Who would have thought that someone who always had that grim expression on his face would one day become such a softie for his daughters?” 

Cedric shook his head with resignation. He could not refute Kyle’s words. 

Jolene put her hand over her mouth and chuckled quietly. She beamed broadly. 

“Kyle, he may look troubled now. In truth, he actually enjoys it.” 

“Exactly! Mrs. Norwood, you have no idea how grateful our company’s employees are to you. They say Mr. Norwood has learned the importance of having a happy family life after getting married. None of them have to work overtime anymore these days. They get off work on time just like Mr. Norwood does.” 

“In that case, you can stop the car by the roadside and get off work now, Kyle.”

Kyle wasted no time carrying out Cedric’s instructions. Soon enough, he parked the car by the roadside and handed the car keys to Cedric. 

Cedric moved to the driver’s seat and typed an address on the GPS device. 

Jolene was clueless about what he was up to. She asked, “Why are we going to Mount Anterrum?” 

“We’re going there for a date. The weather is so nice, and I’ve heard that a new hot spring resort has been opened there. We can admire the fall scenery there.” 

Jolene had planned on going home and taking a nap initially. So, she objected to Cedric’s sudden date plans. 

“So, someone like me can have a happy, loving married life…” she pondered.
