Sherryn didn't want to stay longer with Angeline. She gritted her teeth and asked, "Are you saying this because you're worried that we will fight you for custody of the kids?"
"Please, Mrs. Fletcher. Like I said, if you want a paternity test, I'll gladly cooperate!" Angeline did a quick math before continuing, "Right now, Yasmine is with my husband. If you want to do a paternity test, we can do it in about… 20 days. You're free to call me after that."
Angeline wondered if Sherryn would still be in the mood to talk about the paternity test after 20 days.
Seeing how determined Angeline was, Sherryn couldn't decide what to do. She let out a sigh and said, "Angie, since you said the kids aren't Ned's, how about you leave Oceanford and never come back for all of our sake?"
"I'm going to decline that request, Mrs. Fletcher. I have my life planning," Angeline replied.
Sherryn couldn't hold her temper and shouted in an ordering voice, "Then change your stupid life plan!"
Angeline chuckled. "I made my plan. No one has any say in it."
"You!" Sherryn flushed in anger. "I can't believe we Fletchers had raised an ingrate like you!"
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Fletcher. While it's true that I had spent years with the Fletchers, it wasn't for naught. Without me, would Lawson Global have helped Fletcher Corporation? Will Fletcher Corporation reach its scale today?" Angeline questioned calmly. "I'm not going to be overt about it, but we both know what we've contributed to the family.
"Regardless, I'm always grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher for bringing me gifts every New Year's Day, even if they were an act for Mr. Lawson. But it did warm me a little, at least."
Seeing Angeline open up about this infuriated Sherryn. She sized her up and jeered, "You've changed. You've become a stubborn woman with Mr. Lawson and Lawson Global at your back, even dared to fight back against me!"
"I'm just telling the truth. After all, I've always had Mr. Lawson at my back for a long time." Angeline stepped aside and showed her hand toward the door. "Mrs. Fletcher, if you don't want tea, then please take your leave!"
