"I don't care! Tommy became like this because of Ned!" Carmen said. "If Tommy learned from his mistakes, he wouldn't have made such a mess this time! It's all because Ned pampered him too much in the past!
"Now that Tommy had made a huge mistake, but Ned isn't going to help us this time? How could he do this?"
Carmen's irrational comments dumbfounded Ingrid. "What are you talking about, Aunt Carmen? All these times that Ned helped Tommy were because of my sake! How could you shift the blame to him because he's not helping Tommy this time?"
Seeing Ingrid this angry, Carmen quickly grabbed Ingrid's hand and said, "Please, Ingrid. Try talking to Ned again. Didn't you see that your uncle is still unconscious? If he wakes up and finds out that not only is Yates Group not involved with the collaboration with Vitality Biotech Group, but Eastern Pharmaceutical has taken over our factory and bought our machines, he'll be so mad that he passes out again!"
"Stop it, Aunt Carmen! Just let Eastern Pharmaceutical use our factory. There's still enough time!" Ingrid pleaded in despair. "If Fletcher Corporation goes bankrupt, the Yates family will go bankrupt, too! All hopes will be gone by then!"
Regardless of what Ingrid said, Yates Group belonged to the Yates family and not her. All she could do was give advice, but she could never decide in place of the company owners like Carmen.
Before Carmen could say anything, Ingrid's phone rang.
She saw it was from Ned and went outside the ward to pick up the call.
"Hello, Ned. Don't worry. I'm still trying to convince Aunt Carmen," Ingrid said as tears flooded her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Baby. I've already done all I can for Yates Group in all these years," Ned said dejectedly. "You can stop convincing Carmen now. I've talked to Eastern Pharmaceutical. They're not going to use Yates Group's factory and machines.
