Second Marriage novel Chapter 378

“Even if we don’t have customers now, we’ll have them in the future.” Alice looked away and began to turn the pen in her hands. Noah couldn’t help staring at her fingers.

Her hands were delicate and fair. She had long slender fingers. He knew that some women would get their nails varnished with different colors. But Alice didn’t do it. Her nails were short and clean, which looked cute.

“The reason why I hold today’s meeting is that I want you to know these papers and see who will finally stay in this company,” Alice said and put her pen aside.

“Anyway, no matter why you choose to come here, I am glad to see you in this meeting room. Thank you.”

“Well, let’s start it now.”

“Does that woman know her situation? This company has just been set up and she asked us to have a meeting. Is she capable of being a leader? Seeing her performance these days, I feel that the company will go bankrupt soon. Otherwise…”

The people who didn’t come to the meeting room stayed in the office together. Rachel took a look at Winnie with hesitation and then said to them in a low voice.

Hearing what Rachel said, Winnie sneered and replied to her impatiently, “Rachel, I didn’t go to the meeting because I got a bellyache. It’s none of your business. Sean follows me around. Do you want to treat me the same way as him?” Winnie looked pale with sweat oozing from her forehead. She felt very uncomfortable.

At this time, Sean handed a cup of water to Winnie instantly. He said, “Winnie, drink some water first.”

When she saw the cup, she suddenly knocked it over directly.

“Are you insane? I have a bellyache now. How could the water cure me?”

The water immediately soaked the keyboard beside it. Rachel’s face changed slightly. She thought that Winnie was emotional and had a bad temper.

Sean was startled by her actions, but he wiped the water on the keyboard and table with tissues. He said carefully: “Don’t be angry, Winnie. I’ll wipe the water. Be careful. Don’t get your sleeves wet.”

Seeing that the water was about to spread to her sleeve, Sean intended to wipe the water beside her hand. But Winnie felt annoyed when Sean was getting close to her. She waved her hand to him impatiently.

“Can you just get out of here? It’s annoying to see you!”

Winnie’s nails were decorated with some tiny diamonds. At this time, the diamonds bruised Sean’s face. There was a small cut on his face. Rachel stood up instantly when she saw it.

She said, “Sean, your face got bruised.” Then she turned to look at Winnie in disbelief and said, “Are you crazy? Sean just wanted to help you. Why did you hurt him?”

Winnie’s belly ached. When she heard what Rachel said, she raised her eyes and said, “It’s none of your business. Sean did it out of her heart. I’ve asked him to get away from me. But he didn’t follow my words. Otherwise, his face wouldn’t be bruised. By the way, do you have a crush on him?”

Rachel was embarrassed and flushed. She gnashed her teeth and said, “Winnie, you’re being unreasonable.”

“Unreasonable? I just want to rest because my belly hurts. You said that you would look after me. You actually used me as an excuse when you didn’t want to go to the meeting room. Don’t treat me as a fool.”

Winnie was disgusted with their action. She endured the pain and stood up, then she started to leave the office.

She was stumbling. Sean felt worried for her and he intended to hold her. He said, “Winnie, how do you feel now? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”

“Get away. I don’t want to see you,” Winnie scolded him. She didn’t want to talk to him.

Rachel stood still. She clenched her fists with anger and shouted, “Sean, since she doesn’t want to talk to you, you shouldn’t pester her. Why are you so shameless?”

Her words seemed to provoke Sean. He stopped and looked at Rachel. Then he said, “I just do what I want to do. It’s none of your business. Besides, I am pursuing Winnie. I know her characters.”

At his time, Winnie couldn’t endure the pain and fell on the ground.

“Winnie!”
