John went straight to the detention center. Raina had appealed her sentence

and was awaiting the final verdict.

He entered the detention center, accompanied by two police officers, and

waited anxiously in the room next to the interrogation room for the results of

Raina’s questioning.

Raina was brought in, her face pale, but her eyes still held a hint of defiance.

The police officer, his expression stern, stared at Raina intently.“Raina

Raina raised her head slightly, glancing at the officer, a sinister smile playing

on her lips. “The child?” she said, her voice cold. “His child is long dead, stop

dreaming.” 

The officer frowned, his voice rising. “You better tell the truth, don’t try to

get lucky!”

Raina chuckled, her tone nonchalant.“Think about it, John brought his

newborn baby to me to look after, while he went off to a business function,

without even a nanny,” she said, her words dripping with sarcasm.

“That baby wouldn’t stop crying, it was driving me crazy, so I ignored her,

Raina closed her eyes, remaining silent for a moment before speaking.“I

think it was by the roadside near a cemetery in the west. It was too dark, I didn’t

Raina hesitated for a moment, then looked up, a hint of worry in her

eyes.“The baby died naturally, you won’t blame me for it, right?” she asked.

The officer stared at her coldly, his expression impassive. “You should trust

that the law is fair and just, all judgments will be based on facts,” he said

solemnly.

Raina scoffed, but eventually signed the statement before being led away by
