Colin and I looked at Amelia.
Regardless of what would happen tomorrow, her testimony was crucial to the current circumstances.
Although it wouldn't affect the outcome, it would affect our mood.
"If we find out you didn't do your job properly, we'll hold you accountable." I had to make it clear to her.
It might seem horrible to force Amelia, but I didn't think so. I just wanted her to tell the truth.
This truth was important to us.
Fortunately, Amelia didn't disappoint us. She looked weak, yet she could see the seriousness of the matter.
She bit her lip timidly at first, hesitated a few times, and then swiftly became firm.
She was scared, but she hadn't lost her mind. After some deliberation, she looked at Colin and responded, "I remember clearly that I've locked the rehabilitation room door. I even checked it again at 8:00 pm during the patrol inspection.
"Someone must have taken extraordinary measures to open the door. Every corridor is monitored. You'll know if I have been negligent in my duties after seeing it. I don't mind losing my job, but I won't take the blame for not doing my job well."
After saying that, Amelia stamped her foot angrily and puffed her mouth as if she was furious.
She didn't talk much but was straightforward.
Jasmine's expression worsened as she heard about the surveillance. Her smile stiffened, and Gavin also swayed.
It was so easy to make everything clear.
