“You,” Lexi stared at the man in front of her and her eyes widened

Aziz couldn’t believe the woman who dominated most of his brain is right here flesh and blood; it took him a while to remember she was in his father’s house.

His eyes dimmed when he noticed that.

“Is she my father's mistress or the new stepmother I am to meet today?” His thoughts were in a jumble as he stared at her

“Lexi,” someone called from the inside, and his eyes soften.

“Oh! Aziz,” the woman called and opened the door wider. “We weren't expecting you to come so soon.”

“I couldn't miss it since you asked me so politely.”

Lexi and her mother joined the table after, with a dish in their hand. They placed it down and gave everyone their portion.

Throughout the silent meal, Lexi could feel his gaze on her. She was tempted to lift her head to look at him, but she didn't want to risk the danger of letting her mother know.

“Be careful with your meal,” Balthas chipped in

“You are right, I would love to take a month away from everything so I can spend quality time with my love,” Balthas smiled at Daphne, who duck her head to hide the blush.

“Then it is settled then, when is the wedding?”
