Chapter 14
Lexi couldn’t get the kiss out of her head. She tried not to let it affect her, but she couldn’t concentrate on planning her mother's wedding to her taste.
“Did you call the caterer honey?” Her mother's voice snapped her out of her dreamland.
“Huh?” she mumbled.
“What is wrong with you these days? You keep zoning out on every conversation.”
“I am fine, mom, I just have a lot on my mind.”
“And you can’t share it with me?” Daphne asked.
“It's nothing much, so you need not worry.”
“If you say so, have you called the caterer?”
“Jesus!” Her eyes widened
“Don’t tell me it is what I am thinking?” Daphne glared at her.
“I’m so sorry, mom. I forgot to call them… I have been so busy with the preparations that I didn’t remember that.”
Daphne placed her finger to hush her words, before pulling her to sit beside her on the couch
“Tell me what is wrong with you,” Daphne stared into her eyes, and she did her possible best not to give away her secret.
How is she supposed to tell her mother that she can’t get the thought of her stepbrother out of her mind, or ever since the incident in the clubhouse, she wanted not just his hand but his cock driving her crazy?
“Lexi!” Daphne called. “Did you zone out on me again?”
“No mom, I didn’t zone out on you,” she looked down at her fingers and fiddled with them. “I want to tell you, but I just can’t do it right now.
“I need time to figure out what is happening to me first.”
“You promise to tell me everything once you figure it out right?”
“I promise.”
Daphne kissed her forehead, engulfing her in a warm hug.
The doorbell sounded, disrupting their moment and Daphne stood up to get the door. Lexi turn back to her laptop, intending to place some order online and then call the caterer when she heard his voice.
She looked up and their eyes met, images of their make-out in the car and the kiss in the dining room just two days ago assaulted her and she jerk up so fast.
Her action caused her laptop to fall over the table and land on the soft plush fur rug, she picked it up and without looking at any of them, she excuses herself and ran up the stairs to her room.
“Is Lexi alright?” Balthas asked as he watch her scrambling up the stairs.
“I don’t think so, I tried getting her to talk to me, but she won’t open up.”
“Do you maybe think I should talk to her to see if she would open up to me?” he asked.
“I would love that but… she doesn’t like being pressured to talk if she isn’t ready,” he pulls her to his chest.
“Will she be fine?” Aziz spoke up for the first time since he walked into the house.
“She will be fine,” Daphne assured. “She is a grown-up woman, not a kid.”
Aziz nodded his head and excused himself, before walking into his room.
He knew why she ran away; the feeling was mutual because he was the one who kissed her lip. The sensation that coursed through him the moment his lip touched her almost had him pulling her closer by the waist and bruising her mouth with his torturous kiss.
This wasn’t the first time so why is she still shy when he had kissed her in the backseat of his car, and even gone as far as making her come in his mouth.
He had to admit she was the first woman he would ever use his tongue on, and he still didn’t know what made him do it.
“Is she alright though?” he mumbled to himself.
Deciding to check on her, he pushed his door open and walked to her door, delivering two quick knocks on it.
