Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2902

Looking at the money, Carrie estimated the total to be less than a thousand dollars.

She was so angry that she immediately called Camryn and scolded her. “What do you mean by this, Camryn? I asked you to give me money. You shouldn’t insult people like this! Are you trying to wave off a beggar? Even beggars would disdain the money you gave.”

Camryn said coldly, “Didn’t you ask me for money for food? That’s exactly it. Ten cents is money too. If you count the money, it should all add up to about a thousand plus dollars. Even a fast food meal should only cost around ten or twenty dollars. It’s enough for you to eat for a while.

“And if you buy groceries and cook for yourself, it might last you a bit longer.

“This is the loose change we managed to come up with after my mother-in-law mobilized all the people in the entire manor and emptied their wallets of small change. You should thank her. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have cared if you had money to buy food or not. My mother-in-law kindly said that you’re my sister, after all.

“Since you didn’t have any money to buy food, I had to give you some to avoid you dying of hunger on the street and traumatizing passers-by.”

Carrie was speechless for a moment before replying, “You’re cruel indeed, Camryn!”

She hung up with a huff, sweeping all the loose change into the trash. She did not want Camryn’s generosity!

How infuriating!

This was too much!

Carrie sat on the sofa stewing in her anger for quite a while before she called Brenda, thinking that she would give her the loose change to slowly count. No matter what, money was money and Brenda would probably be very happy.

She wanted to get Brenda to take the whole trash can with her too. She did not want to even see the money.

“The number you have dialed is unavailable.”

What Carrie did not expect was for Brenda’s phone to be switched off.

Why was it switched off?
