Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3240

While Serenity worked in her office, her bodyguards would stay nearby the building, constantly keeping an eye out so they could immediately follow after her when she left to protect her.

On the way to the bookstore, Serenity texted Jasmine. When they arrived, Jasmine came out to greet them with a smile.

The moment Serenity got out of the car, Jasmine went up to her to affectionately take her arm as she said, “I thought you weren’t coming today, you busy, busy girl.”

“I don’t think I’m that busy. Elisa is, though.”

Jasmine said a little apologetically, “The work should have been divided among us three, but now a lot of things have ended up on Elisa’s plate.”

Imogen got out of the car, carrying the two bags of fruits and snacks as Jasmine happened to ask Serenity, “Didn’t you say you were going to introduce me to a pretty girl?”

“There—she just got out of the car.”

Jasmine looked at Imogen.

Imogen walked up to her and introduced herself confidently. “Hello, Mrs. Bucham. My name’s Imogen Doyle. I’m from Huntington. Nice to meet you.”

Jasmine let go of her best friend to shake Imogen’s hand before taking the bags from her with a smile. “Hello, Ms. Doyle. Serenity has told me about you. I’m just happy you came. You didn’t have to buy me anything.”

Serenity and Jasmine invited Imogen into their store. Imogen looked around and found it was not big, but was tidy and clean. The books and reference materials were separated by grade and labeled clearly with signs to make it easy for the students to find what they wanted.

A maneki-neko was placed on the counter and a healthy bonsai tree was growing well in a vase next to the wall. There was an open novel on the counter, which was probably Jasmine’s current read.

Imogen heard that Jasmine opened the bookstore with Serenity because she loved reading and could earn while indulging in her hobby. A whole bookshelf was dedicated to all sorts of novels, though it was placed in the innermost corner.

This was because their shop was located opposite a school and parents did not like their kids to be distracted by novels when they had to focus on their education.

Occasionally, they would sell or rent a few novels, but most of the time, they were for Jasmine.
