Does he think Angela is not deserving of the Collier Family? Fanny could guess Dylan’s intentions, but she chose to feign ignorance.
Dylan proceeded to elaborate, “Didn’t Yaxley agree to be engaged with you? That means you should familiarize yourself with his family background.”
Fanny helplessly asked as she fidgeted with her fingers, “But how am I supposed to do that?”
“I’ll help you.” Dylan added, “I’ll have my assistant provide you with details about the Leigh Family later today. Just look it up then.”
Fanny accepted the offer, and her sour mood, which Angela caused, improved significantly.
However, it only lasted a brief moment when she thought of Angela again.
She inquired, “My father also wanted me to ask you if you could deal with Angela sooner, Mr. Leigh?”
Fanny couldn’t tolerate Angela any longer, so she used George’s name to amp up the pressure.
The thought of Angela thriving in Riverdon and now in Northland had made Fanny agitated.
Angela does not deserve this!
“Good opportunities don’t come by often.” Dylan hesitated for a while before replying.
He was initially tasked by George to deal with Angela back then, but Dylan

had now refrained from taking action because George had not mentioned what to do with Angela during their recent conversation.
Fanny gritted her teeth and said when she saw his reluctance, “But Angela knows Yaxley. She could jeopardize my relationship with him by telling him about me if she remains in his company.”
Dylan immediately became wary and replied, “Keep on the lookout for opportunities if that’s the case. Do not hesitate to contact me if you require assistance.”
Fanny finally felt relieved when she heard his response. She nodded in agreement, and Dylan took his leave following that.
However, another knocking on the door was heard right after Fanny bid Dylan farewell.
She was surprised when she met Christopher, who she saw after opening the door.
Christopher had unexpectedly arrived at her doorstep, and it caused Fanny to panic as she held onto the door. “Why are you here?”

Why isn’t Christopher attending his classes?
“I feel unsettled, Fanny. I miss you,” Christopher confessed.
He had just attended his potential soon–to–be marriage arranged by his family yesterday, but distractions had caused him to displease the lady’s family.
So, Michael Sanders had prohibited him from attending any arrangement for the time being when he learned about that.
Christopher sought out Fanny, who he wanted to see in his own will.

“Won’t you allow me to come in and talk, Fanny?” Fanny remained silent, so he had no choice but to try another approach.
However, Fanny stood firm at the door and asked, “Aren’t you supposed to be meeting with your potential partners for your marriage? Why are you here?”
Christopher felt a sense of guilt as he had tried to conceal the fact that he had met other ladies from Fanny before.
But he knew he had no excuse at that instant.
He wholeheartedly apologized while looking at Fanny with a rueful smile, “I’m sorry, Fanny. I—”
“It’s okay. No need to explain,” Fanny interjected. “I understand that you are forced, so I don’t blame you, Christopher.”
Fanny couldn’t help but roll her eyes up deep down when she noticed Christopher exhaled in relief. Then, she continued with a hint of sorrow, “But, we should steer clear of each other since you are meeting other women for dates. I wouldn’t want a repeat of what happened in Riverdon. I don’t want you to get hurt again…”
It seemed Fanny had already resorted to this to prevent him from being hurt again.
He wanted to abandon everything and take Fanny somewhere far away, but he remained realistic. He only said, “Fanny… I’m so sorry. I’ve wronged you.”
