Chapter 76 Cheesy Nickname
“Nicholas…” Nancy called his name.
Although there were no inappropriate messages in her phone…
But being suspected like this made Nancy upset.
Nicholas treated Nancy as if she had truly betrayed him, betrayed their marriage, and committed some unforgivable act.
But clearly, it was he who had betrayed her.
Since he wanted to see so badly, she would let him see.
Nancy lowered her hands, not resisting any further.
Nicholas was looking at her WhatsApp interface. Initially, he hadn’t intended to look further, but his finger accidentally touched the chat between her and Christian.
When he saw the words “Bro Chris”, he instantly clenched his fist, feeling anger coursing through him, completely beyond his control.
Bro Chris?
Haha! Bro Chris?
This nickname suddenly echoed in Nicholas’ head like an obsession, impossible to shake off no matter how hard he tried.
She had never called him that way but used such an affectionate term with another man.
Wasn’t that enough to make the point?.
Nicholas lowered his hand, turned off the phone, and returned it to Nancy.
His voice dripped with sarcasm as he said, “So this is why you don’t want me to see your phone.”
“What reason?”
As she listened to his words, Nancy’s head buzzed loudly.
What did he mean?
Her phone had been completely clean, but now he made it sound like she was hiding some shameful secret.

“Nicholas, what do you mean?”
“What do I mean?” Nicholas looked at her with a mocking expression. “Bro Chris? I didn’t know you’d use such a cheesy nickname.”
Nancy opened her mouth as if to speak, but upon hearing Nicholas’ words, she suddenly stopped
and gave up.
Cheesy?
Haha… Her polite term was cheesy.
What about him?
Did he ever consider her feelings when he repeatedly chose Madelline over her, when he held. Madelline in his arms and comforted her with gentle words right in front of her? Did he ever think that she was his wife and have any concern for her feelings?
Did he ever think she would feel hurt and pain and care about all this?
No, he didn’t.
He didn’t think about any of it. His heart and his eyes were filled only with Madelline.
If he had even a tiny bit of her presence in his heart, he wouldn’t have hurt her again and again.
“Nicholas, don’t you think you’re being too harsh? I was hoping you wouldn’t mention that nothing is happening between me and Christian. Even if there were, it’s all because of you.”
Nancy was also angry and confused, making all these assumptions and engaging in reckless self- harm without considering the consequences.
“What did you say?” Nicholas anger flared up instantly upon hearing those words, and the veins. on his forehead bulged.
His sharp eyes shot toward Nancy like arrows, a gaze filled with a desire to devour her whole.
“Nicholas, you act like a dictator, allowing yourself and Madelline to do whatever you want while I …Nancy pressed her chest desperately. “I just used a normal nickname, and it’s become an unforgivable crime, right?”
Nicholas’ deep and cold gaze locked onto her. “Just a nickname?”
“So what do you want to do?”
Nancy didn’t say anything more. She lowered her eyelashes and suddenly felt a profound sadness.
in her heart.

Many times, explanations were feeble.
Nicholas had no trust in her.
Initially, when she saw his arrival, after the initial surprise, she felt delighted in her heart.
She thought that no matter the reason, he had finally come to pick her up.
The encounter with Linda at the mall today had cast a shadow over her, and she had initially felt at lot of grievances, worries, and fears.
She wanted to hug him and share her fears with him.
But now it seemed unnecessary.
Nothing was necessary anymore.
“Never mind, interpret it however you want.”
“I’m tired. I want to rest.
Nancy finished speaking and went upstairs with her phone.
She filled the bathtub with water and immersed her whole body in it after rinsing herself off.
She had agreed not to be sad, not to feel upset, not to get angry.
But once alone in a confined space, she couldn’t help but let her thoughts run wild.
No one knew how terrified she had been when Linda asked her to call Nicholas in the mall.
She clutched her phone, her heart pounding as if it were about to jump out of her throat. She was nervous and scared, afraid that Nicholas would answer the call and immediately refuse her
request.
Even more than that, she feared he wouldn’t come to pick her up.
But in reality, all her worries had been for nothing. He hadn’t answered her call at all.
Nicholas, where were you when I needed you?
Where were you when I called you and asked for help?
Do you know that I was trapped in the mall today?
Do you know how worried and scared I was when they escorted me out of the mall? I was afraid of being surrounded and chased by those fans.

Do you know how scared I was when I fell in the crowd, and my legs and feet were trampled by one person after another? I was so scared, and I wished you could hug me.
You don’t know, you know nothing at all.
You’ll never know that if it weren’t for Christian’s arrival, if he hadn’t rescued me from the crowd, I wouldn’t have been able to get out.
