Chapter 95 I’ll Sleep with You
In astonishment, smiling excitedly, Nancy looked up and asked, “So, did you agree?”
She was genuinely surprised. Since getting into the car, Nicholas had been wearing a stern. expression, and she had never expected him to agree at all.
“If I don’t agree, can you go home safely?”
Nicholas opened the car door and took out two umbrellas from the trunk.
He opened one of the umbrellas and handed the other umbrella to Nancy, saying, “Go ahead. I’ll wait for you here.”
“Thank you!” At this moment, Nancy was genuinely thankful to him.
Christian had saved her several times, and she would truly feel guilty if she couldn’t bid him at proper farewell today.
Due to the heavy rain and strong winds, Nancy’s umbrella was constantly blown in all directions. With the long coat of Nicholas that she was wearing, every step she took was slow and deliberate.
Seeing her approach, Christian stood up and walked over.
“In such heavy rain, why did you come here again? Go back home and rest early!” His voice still carried a deep concern and thoughtfulness.
Nancy extended her hand and handed him the umbrella she was holding.
Then she glanced at the car, the one picking him up, not far away. “Even though someone is here to give you an umbrella, you might not necessarily need it. But this umbrella is my way of saying thank you. Whether you ever need it or not, I want to give it to you.”
“Alright, I’ll take the umbrella. Thank you!”
Nancy looked at Cynthia, who was closely following, hesitated momentarily, and then said, “I have something I want to talk to you about privately.”
Christian turned to Cynthia and said, “Wait for me in the car.”
“No, I want to wait for you right here!” Cynthia quickly clung to Christian’s arm, acting coy.
Christian withdrew his arm and, while leading Cynthia away, said tenderly, “Cynthia, don’t be stubborn. You go first. I’ll be there in a moment.”
Cynthia pouted and didn’t seem too pleased.

But soon, as if she had thought of something, she smiled and said, “Christian, Luciana said you have feelings for her. I didn’t believe it at first, but it turns out it’s true. Christian, tell me, do you
like her?”
“Don’t be unreasonable, go back quickly.”
“I can tell you like her. I’ve never seen you be so gentle and caring with any other girl. In the past, when girls pursued you, you rejected them without mercy.”
“That’s enough. Go back.”
Finally, after getting Cynthia back into the car, Christian approached Nancy again.
“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting.”
“No, it was just a little while.”
Afterwards, there was a sudden silence between the two of them.
Nancy gathered her thoughts and said, “Christian, I’m sorry. Just now, Nicholas almost hurt you, and I want to apologize. I’m sorry.”
“By the way, I haven’t introduced him to you yet. His name is Nicholas Sallow, and he’s my husband.”
Although he already knew, hearing her say it out loud was another matter..
Christian thought he had already become calm when he knew the truth.
But at this moment, upon hearing these words, his heart couldn’t help but surge and tumult, his emotions in turmoil.
“May I ask, how long have you been married?”
“It’s been two years, Nancy said. Then, casually, she smiled and continued, “For a couple married for two years, we should’ve been deeply in love, very affectionate, right? But it seems like he and I…”
Nancy forced a smile on her face and said, “It might be a bit different from what everyone thinks about marriage. I love him very much, but he already has someone in his heart, so our relationship might seem peculiar.”
“What about the pregnancy? Does he know?” Christian asked.
Nancy shook her head and said, “He doesn’t know yet, so I hope you can keep it a secret for me.”
“Why don’t you tell him? He’s the father of the child and should take on this responsibility. Your health is fragile now, and the situation isn’t favorable.”

“There’s no need.” Nancy said, “I don’t want to use this child as leverage to gain anything, whether it’s affection or preference. If it’s mine, it’s mine. What’s the point of taking something by force?”
“Christian, thank you. I didn’t expect to share so much with you.”
“I’ll go now.”
Nancy’s figure quickly disappeared into the heavy rain.
The heavy rain fell in many lines, as if countless threads, densely and closely, down to the ground.
The entire mountain was shrouded in a thick layer of mist.
Her silhouette grew increasingly distant and blurry as she continued to walk.
In the end, Christian couldn’t see anything at all.
Soon, their car disappeared into the curtain of rain.
Upon returning home, Nancy immediately took a hot shower.
She was worried about catching a cold because she had been caught in the rain. So, she stayed in the hot water for a little longer to try to rid her body of the chill.
She felt warm, relaxed, and comfortable when she finally exited the bathroom.
However, she didn’t expect to encounter Nicholas right after leaving the bathroom.
He was pushing the door open, seemingly having also taken a shower. He wore pajamas, and his black hair still dripped with water droplets.
A grey bathrobe accentuated his handsome silhouette and features, making them stand out even more. He looked more three-dimensional in the light’s glow, especially with the masculine aura exuding from his entire being, which suddenly filled the room.
Nancy felt a tightening in her chest.
When she looked up, she met Nicholas’ gaze, which was filled with intensity and heat, and it lingered on her, almost scorching, as he looked at her.
Without thinking, Nancy tightened her grip on her pajamas and wrapped her arms around herself.
The atmosphere became strangely subdued, and no one spoke under the warm, yellow light.
Nancy licked her lips, took a step, and walked past Nicholas.
