Chapter 337
Lizetta frowned hard at the two text messages on her screen, feeling her good mood evaporate instantly
Even though the number was unlisted, she knew in her gut it had to be from Evelina.
Evelina had previously insisted, without a shred of doubt, that Remington was hiding another woman at his Echo Ridge estate.
Lizetta didn’t want to bebeve it, but Evelina’s persistence was unsettling.
With a scowl. Izetta was about to block the number.
But then, another message popped up–a photo.
Lizetta couldn’t care less and was about to ext when, by a slip of the finger, she accidentally zoomed in on the picture,
Her heart skipped a beat at the sight.
The photo was clearly taken on the sly, capturing a man on a plane with only half of his face visible.
There he sat a woman resting on his shoulder her face hidden, her curly, thick hair, and a glimpse of her fair, slender neck suggesting she was young and beautiful.
She was sleeping against him while he gazed at her with a tender look.
It was a beautiful scene, full of atmosphere
Had the man not been Remington, her husband who had promised to come home for dinner, Lizetta would have admired the love radiating from the picture
Lizettas fingers tumed icy, trembling as she swiped away the photo.
[You should recognize this, its Remi’s private jet. Fool, she’s the one he truly brought back, the one he’s protecting at all costs. I was just a smokescreen]
[Lizetta, you’re so pitiful. I even gave you the address, yet you don’t dare to take a look? What are you afraid of?]
Evelina’s taunting texts followed one after another.
Lizetta’s breathing became labored, her hands shaking as she finally blocked the number.
Her phone went silent
But Lizettas world was in turmoil, a storm raging within her heart, its howls echoing in her ears.
She went pale, standing frozen for a long time before finally taking a deep breath and dialing Remington’s number.
He answered swiftly, her voice tight with tension.
“Remi, lunch is almost ready. Where are you?”
Lizetta held her breath, praying for Remington to say he was on his way home.
But all she got was his apologetic tone.
“Something came up last minute, 1 can’t make it back. Have lunch with Grandma.”
“But” Lizetta’s voice trembled, trying to salvage some proof, some assurance.
But Remington was impatient, cutting her off, “Liz, just do as I say”
With that, he hung up.
Lizetta clutched her phone, her fingers going limp, the device nearly slipping through her grasp.
Tina, stepping out of the mansion with a craft knife, caught sight of Lizetta driving away.
Tina called out, puzzled, “Mrs. Dashiell, it’s almost time for lunch. Where are you off to?”
Lizetta didn’t respond, her car speeding out of the gate and quickly disappearing
Tina turned back inside, mentioning to Flona. “Mrs. Dashiell left without a word. Wonder where she’s gone.”
Fiona called Lizella.
“Liz, did you head out?”
“Grandma, Yoll’s got into a bit of trouble, need to see her fast. Can’t join you for lunch.”

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
