The Secret Pregnancy of the Billionaire’s Ex–Wife
Chapter 179: The Aphrodisiac
Christina POV
I studied Sean’s face for any sign of anger as I voiced my request. The words hung in the air between us, bold and brazen.
“Five percent of Shaw Group shares.”
I braced myself for his refusal. Mother had coached me carefully on this strategy–ask for something outrageous first, then settle for cash when he inevitably declined. While he retrieved his checkbook, d slip the powder into his drink. Simple and effective.
“Five percent of the shares? Fine.”
My rehearsed follow–up died on my lips. Had I misheard him?
“I’m sorry… what did you say?” I stammered, certain I’d misunderstood.
“I said it’s fine. You can have five percent of Shaw Group shares.”
My heart raced. Five percent of Shaw Group would catapult me into financial independence. My status in the financial world would skyrocket overnight. I struggled to maintain my composure as my mind calculated the astronomical value of what he’d just offered.
“Actually,” Sean continued, his voice steady, “I’ll make it ten percent.
I nearly choked. “Ten percent? Are you serious?”
“Yes, but with conditions.” His emerald eyes fixed on mine, cold and determined. “We sign an agreement tonight. Once you receive these shares, there will be no further contact between us. Every promise I ever made to you becomes void. You will never mention
our history again.”
I fought to keep my breathing steady. The shares would be worth hundreds of millions. Mother would be ecstatic. But the finality in his voice–the absolute certainty that he was buying my permanent absence from his life–stung more than I cared to admit.
“I’ll be honest,” I said, studying his expression. “I’m tempted.”
The realization hit me with crushing clarity: Sean was willing to give away ten percent of his family’s empire just to be with Angela Wilson. What was it about her that inspired such devotion? Why couldn’t he feel that way about me, after everything I’d done?
No. I wouldn’t surrender. Not when I was this close.
I forced a bittersweet smile. “Sean, I never imagined you’d go this far for her. If your feelings run that deep, who am I to stand in your way? I wish you both happiness.”
Surprise flickered across his face. “You’re accepting my offer?”
“Yes. If she means that much to you…” I let my voice trail off delicately.
His posture relaxed slightly, the tension in his shoulders easing. “Thank you.”
“Let’s finalize the agreement tonight,” I pressed, seizing the moment. “Ten percent is substantial–I wouldn’t want
your mind.”

I hadn’t abandoned my plan. I’d take the shares, seduce him, and conceive his child. According to my cycle tracking app, I was at peak fertility. With his child and the life debt he owed me, Angela wouldn’t stand a chance.

Chapter 179: The Aphrodisiac
“I’ll call my lawyer,” Sean said, rising from his seat.
As soon as he stepped out to make the call, I moved quickly. My fingers trembled as I unzipped my handbag and removed the small packet Mother had given me. I tore it open and emptied the powder into one of the wine glasses, my heart pounding violently against my ribs.
I opened the bottle of wine, filling both glasses. As I swirled his glass to dissolve the powder, my hand shook so badly that wine sloshed over the rim, splashing onto the glass table.
“Shit,” I whispered, panic rising. I heard footsteps approaching.
I hastily placed his glass back on the table and frantically grabbed tissues to mop up the spilled wine. With no time to fill my own glass properly, I poured wine sloppily and tried to appear casual as Sean reentered the room.
“The lawyer is drafting the agreement,” he announced. “It should be ready soon.”
“Great! Let’s have a drink while we wait,” I suggested, my voice unnaturally high. To steady my nerves, I gulped down half my wine in one swallow.
Sean turned to leave again.
“Wait!” I called out. “Don’t go yet. I… I still have things to say to you”
He paused, visibly reluctant.
“Please, Sean. For old times‘ sake? Let’s part on good terms.”
He reluctantly returned to his seat.
“My feelings for you were genuine,” I said softly. “Even if you weren’t the CEO of Shaw Group, I would still care for you. With these shares, at least you won’t feel indebted to me anymore.”
I raised my glass. “To your happiness, Sean. It’s been many years.”
After a moment’s hesitation, he lifted his glass and took a small sip. watched intently as he swallowed, fighting triumph. The dosage was strong–even that small amount would be effective.
“Excuse me,” I said. “I need to use the bathroom.”

In the lavish marble bathroom, I stared at my reflection, counting the minutes. The drug would need time to take effect. I refreshed my makeup, applying a hint more perfume. When I emerged, the living room was empty.
“Sean?” My voice trembled slightly.
Fear gripped me. Had he left? Gone to Angela?
The thought of my plan backfiring so spectacularly–of essentially helping him reach her–was unbearable.
I finally spotted him on the terrace, his silhouette stark against the city lights. I let out a sigh of relief, then squared my shoulders and walked toward him.
As I approached, I noticed his stance seemed tense, his movements restless.
“It’s chilly out here,” I said. “You should come inside.”
