The Secret Pregnancy of the Billionaire’s Ex–Wife
Chapter 239: Reunion with Sean
Angela Pov
I woke up from a dream about two children. In the dream, a boy and girl were holding my arms voices were filled with love and happiness,
calling the “Mommy.” Their
Opening my eyes to the morning light, I still felt the warmth of the cream. I stayed in bed for a moment, not wanting to face another day in Christopher’s Mediterranean villa
The names Aria and Ethan came to me suddenly, as if they hail always been in my mind. Were they really my children? Or just figures my mind created to deal with my memory loss?
I wondered if they were real children waiting for me somewhere. The thought gave me hope in my difficult situation.
Later that day, David knocked and entered my
y suite. “Mrs. Wilson, M. Blake has arranged for you to go out this evening.”
I looked up from my book, instantly suspicious, “Out? Where?”
To somewhere special, he replied, maintaining a professional tone. Mr. Blake believes a change of scenery might improve your spirits. The doctor agreed that fresh air would benefit your recovery.
Beyond these walls lay potential answers, perhaps even
The prospect of leaving the villa sent a jolt of anticipation through escape. But why would Christopher arrange this when he wasn’t even home?
“I’m not feeling well enough for an outing.” I protested weakly.
“Mr. Blake has thought of everything,” David assured me. “He suggested you dress warmly. The evenings are cool by the Mediterranean”
An hour later, I looked at myself in the mirror wearing a white turtleneck sweater, dark pants, and a heavy gray coat. My reflection shocked me – I was thin and pale. I hadn’t been able to keep much food down lately, which explained my weakened state.
David knocked again before entering. Behind him, a staff member wheeled in a sleek wheelchair. My spine stiffened instantly.
“I’m perfectly capable of walking,” I said coldly.
“Mrs. Wilson,” David said carefully, “you nearly collapsed yesterday just going from your bed to the bathroom. This isn’t about control–it’s about your health.
I wanted to argue but knew he was right. My legs had grown distressingly weak over the past days.
“Fine,” I conceded reluctantly. “But only to conserve energy.”
In the car, I sat silently as
ly as David drove, his eyes fixed on the road, occasionally flicking to the rearview mirror. I followed his gaze and noticed a black sedan several cars behind us, maintaining a consistent distance despite the changing traffic patterns.
‘David, I whispered, “there’s a car following us
David’s eyes met mine briefly in the mirror. He gave an almost imperceptible nod but said nothing. His apparent lack of concern chplused me. Was he aware of the tail? Was this part of the plan?
Several turns later, the black sedan disappeared. Either they’d abandoned their pursuit or were skilled enough to follow without being detected. Neither option reassured me.

The car finally stopped before an elegant hotel, its facade Illuminate with tasteful lighting that highlighted its modern architecture.
“We’ve arrived.” David announced, coming around to open my door.
Another security stall member retrieved my wheelchair from the trunk while David helped me from the car
The hotel lobby was eerily quiet with just a few staff members who nodded as we passed. David wheeled me toward the elevator bank, another security guard walking ahead.
“Top floor,” David instructed, pressing
the button after we entered,
The elevator jerked abriptly and stopped after passing the second flair. The lights flickered once before stabilizing.
“What happened?” I asked, gripping the wheelchair’s armrests..
The security guard contacted the front desk. They’re sending maintenance right away.”
Shortly after, we heard mechanical sounds above us. A maintenance worker’s face appeared in the partially opened doors.
The elevator is stuck between floors. We’ll need to help you out through the top.”
David went first and extended his arms s down toward me. The security guard helped me stand from the wheelchair as I reached
