Chapter 251: Her Body Knew Where She Belonged.

Lexpected her to turn away, to maintain the careful distance she’d lept since her rescue. Instead, she surprised me by turning · toward me, leaning over until her face hovered above mine.

For a heartbeat, we just looked at each other in the dim light. Then, with a gentleness that stole my breath, she lowered her lips to mine.

This was her first time initiating a kiss since I’d brought her back.

The shock of it paralyzed me momentarily before I responded, my hand moving to the nape of her neck, drawing her closer. Her lips were soft, hesitant at first, then increasingly certain.
