The Secret Pregnancy of the Billionaire’s Ex–Wife
Chapter 281:I’ll Help Design Your Wedding Dress
Angela POV
After Christmas, life starts settling into something quieter. I head to the hospital for my follow–up a couple of days later.
The doctor checks my stitches, runs a quick scan, and nods.
“You’re good to go,” he says. “No lingering issues. Just take it easy for a bit.”
I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. It’s a relief to hear I’m okay, that the mess with Christina didn’t leave any permanent damage.
Speaking of Christina, Sean gets a call from his lawyer while we’re packing to leave Italy. She’s been sentenced–three months in jail for intentional assault. Sean’s face tightens when he tells me, his voice sharp.
“Three months? That’s it? She could’ve killed you, Angie. It’s too damn light.” I just shrug. “Maybe. But I don’t care about revenge, Sean. She’s out of our lives, and we’re all safe. That’s enough for me
He grumbles but doesn’t push it. I can tell he’s still mad, but I’m ready to let it go.
The goodbye at the airport is harder than I expect. Jhon and Giulia walk us to the gate, and Dad pulls me into a long hug
You take care of yourself, Angie,” he says, his voice rough. “And those kids.”
I nod, hugging him back.
Giulia’s next, squeezing me tight and ruffling Ethan’s hair. “I’ll miss you guys,” she says.
Victoria chimes in, smiling. “You should come visit us in New York sometime, Giulia. We’d love to have you.”
“Deal.” Giulia grins.
We wave until they’re out of sight, then board the plane–me, Sean, the kids, Victoria, and Alexander–headed back to New York.

Once we’re home, I text Sophie. I’ve been meaning to catch up with her, and there’s something big I need her help with.
We meet at a little coffee shop near my place, the kind with mismatched chairs and the smell of roasted beans in the air. She’s already there when I walk in, sipping a latte, her red hair tied back. slide into the seat across from her, and she looks up, grinning.
“Hey, stranger,” she says. “You look good for someone who just got out of a hospital bed.”
I laugh. “Thanks. I’m all back to normal now–memory and everything.”
Her eyes widen. “Wait, you remember? Everything?”
“Yeah,” I say, nodding. “And that’s part of why I wanted to see you. There’s something I need your help with.” I take a deep breath, then hold up my left hand, showing her the ring. “Sean proposed. We’re getting married, and I need you to help me pick a wedding dress.”
Sophie lets out a scream–loud enough that half the coffee shop turns to stare.

“Oh my God, Angela! Married To Sean?” She grabs my hand, inspecting the ring. “This is huge!”
”
Then she pauses, her expression shifting. “You know, when you had annesia, I almost told you the truth–that you and Sean were already divorced. I was going to spill it, but you and the kids seemed so happy with him. I couldn’t bring myself to ruin it, so I kept quiet. I felt guilty about it for a while, like I was letting him lie to you. But now? You’ve got your memory back, and he’s proposed again. It’s perfect–like it was meant to be!”
I blink, processing that. “You were going to tell me?”
“Yeah,” she says, nodding. “But I’m glad I didn’t. Look at you now–engaged! I’m calling my designer friend right now. We’re doing this custom–I’ll help design it myself.” She’s already pulling out her phone, but I put a hand on hers to stop her.
“Wait,” I say, my voice quieter. “There’s more. I need to talk to you about something.” I pull out my phone and open the Instagram note I wrote to myself all those months ago: Don’t make the same mistake again. I slide it across the table.
