She Outshines Them All (Athena and Matthew) novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121
Matthew’s voice was very gentle as he said reassuringly, Tm line, Go to sleep. Good night.”
Athena anxiously called, “Wait! Tell me where you are! I’ll come had you or call the ambulance for you.”
“Miss Donovan. I’m really fine. When I’m free in a few days, I’ll definitely treat you to a meal at Kitmore City, Matthew replied.
Athena did not waste time talking to him. She opened a software on her phone and stalled for time. “What? Wait a minute. I didn’t turn on the lights just now and bumped against the wall. I didn’t hear what you were saying. Tell me again. Where are you? What are you doing?”
Matthew’s voice was so low that she could barely hear him, “I said I’m fine. I won’t disturb you anymore.” After that, Matthew started coughing
Athena repeated, “Hey, the signal here is not good. Say it again.”
Matthew uttered, “Miss Donovan, goodbye.”
He hung up
However, Athena had already found his location.
It was already so late, but he had actually appeared on the east side of the Rivergate Bridge in the suburbs of Valemont City. It was more than 30 miles away from the city center. Something was indeed wrong.
Athena made a quick decision, dressed, and drove straight to Rivergate Bridge
Her location was over 90 miles from Rivergate Bridge, which seemed quite far, but her car was in excellent condition, her driving skills were top-notch, and the early morning roads were very clear.
After leaving the city at the maximum speed limit, she immediately accelerated, speeding towards her destination at over 60 miles per hour.
The scene at the Rivergate Bridge was one of devastation.
There were injuries everywhere and the sound of wailing filled the air.
Matthew’s face was covered in blood. He sat on top of the three thugs and looked at the black phone screen. He muttered, “It’s out of battery. I can’t call Louis. If I had known, I wouldn’t have thrown all your phones into the river. Forget it, I’ll sleep in the car first. I’ll talk when I wake up.”
The wound on his head had stopped bleeding, but he was very sleepy and very tired. He was also very dizzy, and his vision was getting blurry.
He definitely could not drive like this
He lazily stood up, swayed unsteadily back to the car, sat in the driver’s seat, closed the door, then took a clean towel and draped it over his head. Leaning back, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep deep
Due to feeling dizzy, he slept restlessly, his body still feeling hot. He might have a fever.
It seemed there was a first aid kit in the car, and the kit might contain fever-reducing medication, but he slid not want to
move.
He decided to endure it for now. After all, he was young and healthy, he could take the medication once he woke up

While he was in a daze, he suddenly heard a series of knocking sounds. It was so loud that he could not sleep.
He opened his eyes in a daze and saw a face appear outside the cracked car window.
The light of the headlights reflected on that face. That face was so dazzling.
Was it Miss Donovan?
Matthew sobered up a little.
However, how could Miss Donovan appear here?
It must be because his mind was filled with Miss Donovan that he was hallucinating.
The knocking on the window became even louder. The person outside even shone a flashlight into his eyes.
He did not feel the glare through the bulletproof glass, but he sobered up a little, knowing there really was someone outside
the window.
So he gripped the handle and opened the car door.
Miss Donovan’s face appeared in front of him with a worried expression. “Cany
you speak?”
She then placed her hand on his forehead and said nervously. “Oh, you have a fever. I’ll feed you medicine first
Matthew watched as Miss Donovan took out a few pills from the medicine box at the front of the car and placed them into a glass of water. He shook it and then brought the glass to his lips, Come, take your medicine.”
He raised his hand to hold Miss Donovan’s hand and looked at her in a daze. “Miss Donovan, is it really you? Am I dreaming?”
Athena smiled. “You’re not dreaming. I drove here from Kitmore City. It only took about an hour. Be good. Hurry up and eat the medicine. Otherwise, you’ll be letting me down for coming all the way here to see you at two in the morning
The touch on his hand, what he saw, what he heard, and the faint fragrance that lingered in his nose all told Matthew that Miss Donovan was really here.
He lowered his eyes and let go of Athena’s hand. A faint smile appeared on his lips. “Miss Donovan, you’re really a fairy. When I need you, you’ll always appear.”
Athena blushed slightly and pressed the edge of the cup to his lips. “So, can you take the medicine now?”
Matthew obediently opened his mouth and drank the entire glass of water
Next, Athena reclined the seat and proceeded to rinse, disinfect, apply medication, and bandage the wound on Matthew’s head.
As a doctor, she always kept essential medications, first aid supplies, and basic medical tools in her car. Although Matthew’s head injury had reached the skull, it had not affected the brain, so she could handle it alone without needing to send him to a hospital.
After finishing, she asked, “Are there any other injuries on you?”
Matthew shook his head. “I have a few minor injuries, but they re not serious and don’t need treatment.”
Athena examined him carefully
His white shirt was torn in many places and stained with some blood. However, it seemed like someone else had more blood. There were no obvious wounds or blood flowing out. He should be fine

Athena then scanned the scene. She looked at the injured on the ground and asked. “Have you called the police

Matthew closed his eyes and said in a daze. “Don’t call the police The murderer asked me to come over. I’ve already asked them for important clues.”
Athena patted his head. “Have you informed your secretary or assistant?”
Matthew said, “My phone is out of battery.”
Athena immediately picked up her phone and called Louis. She took a few photos and sent them over.
Louis said. “Miss Donovan, please take care of Mr. Graham first. I’ll get someone to go with me now.”
Athena replied calmly. “No problem. I’ll wait for you guys to come over.”
Matthew wanted to say, “I don’t want you to come, Louis. I just want Miss Donovan to be by my side. Unfortunately, he could not say that. He could only say, “Miss Donovan, I want to sleep. You should get in the car and rest too. It’s already so late
Athena thought about it again. “Sleep on my lap. It’ll be more comfortable that way.”
Matthew’s eyes were still closed, but a satisfied smile appeared on his lips. “Thank you, Miss Donovan.”
Athena lifted Matthew’s shoulder and sat in the driver’s seat. Then, she let Matthew rest on her lap and said as if she was coaxing a child, “Go to sleep. You’ll be home when you wake up
Matthew thought to himself that there was nothing good about returning home.
A sense of relief and exhaustion quickly surged up.
He soon fell asleep.
Athena yawned and closed the car door. Not long after, she fell into a deep sleep.
At this moment, on the west side of Rivergate Bridge, about 1,600 to 2,000 feet away, Mindless Thrill stood on a large rock. observing them with a high-definition binoculars in one hand and angrily slapping his thigh with the other, continuously muttering curses under his breath.
He cursed under his breath, “Over twenty trained thugs, armed with weapons, and they still couldn’t take down just one Matthew? What a bunch of useless fools! I should have taken a gamble, sneaked over, and taken the chance to knock out Matthew when he was unprepared or injured, then drive his car into the river with him in it!”
But now, it was too late to say any of that.
Someone was already coming to assist Matthew, and Mindless Thrill knew he absolutely could not be exposed.
The question remained: who was that woman?
