Chapter 292
Athena said calmly, “I can only confirm that the murderer must be in the Graham family.”
“Who couldn’t guess that?” Loreen sneered. “Just say who you suspect the most.”
Athena replied, “At least, you’re definitely not the murderer.”
There were low chuckles all around.
“You’re the most annoying!” Loreen stomped her foot in frustration. “If my brother can’t figure it out, there’s no way you can either.”
Matthew ignored her and stepped forward, coldly staring at Farrah. “Since you’re here, please be the first to be interrogated by Lockwood.”
Farrah replied coldly, “What if I refuse?”
Matthew said with an expressionless face, “I will consider you the mastermind and make you pay a heavier price.”
Farrah’s expression changed. She wanted to scold him back, but when she met Matthew’s cold gaze, she endured it and said indifferently to Athena, “What do you want to ask?”
Athena glanced around and said, “Let’s go to the small living room to talk. Everyone else, please keep your distance.”
Farrah turned and slowly walked to the small living room, sitting down and looking indifferently at Athena. “I hope your questions aren’t just nonsense.”
Athena got straight to the point. “I’ll only ask you three questions. First question: Did you know that Maggie had decided to divorce Nicolas before the incident?”
This question was clearly beyond Farrah’s expectations.
Farrah was stunned for a moment before shaking her head. “I didn’t know.” Then, she asked, “Is this true?”
Athena replied, “It’s true.”
“Impossible.” Farrah shook her head. “On the night of the incident, I told her that Nicolas promised to marry me and urged her to hurry up and divorce him. She clearly told me that she would never get a divorce. She wanted me to always be the hidden mistress and for my children to forever be regarded as illegitimate.”
Athena ignored her words and looked straight into her eyes, asking, “Have you ever felt sorry or regretted anything about Maggie?”
Farrah was stunned again, her expression turning icy as anger washed over her face. “Look at me now, how am I any better than Maggie?”
Her tone was filled with hatred, though she didn’t know who to direct it at. “Even though Maggie is dead, her two children are doing well. Her son has become the heir of the Graham Group. What’s there to regret?”
“But what about my son? He died in the womb!” she continued, her voice rising. “And my hands are gone! I need someone to help me take off my pants just to go to the bathroom. Who suffers more than I do?”
She spoke bitterly, “I don’t feel the slightest bit of sorry or regret toward her! If I ever did anything wrong, the price I paid was far greater than what I did. I owe no one anything!”
After calmly listening to her, Athena asked, “Tomorrow is the anniversary of Maggie’s death. Do you plan to visit her and apologize to her?”

Chapter 292
Farrah sneered. “What kind of relationship do I have with her? Why should I go see her?”
Athena said meaningfully, “Her incident is closely tied to you. If you don’t go see her, maybe she’ll come see you.”
She then stood up and politely said, “Thank you for your answers. I’m going to see Nicolas now.”
Nicolas was lying in the rocking chair on the balcony in his sleeping robe, looking at the sunset in the distance. He did not react much to Athena’s arrival and simply asked her, “What do you want to ask?”
Athena sat down beside him and directly stated, “First question, do you know that Maggie had already decided to divorce you and had consulted a lawyer about it in private before the incident?”
Nicolas was quite surprised and turned to look at her. “I’ve never heard of this before, and I don’t think she has the courage to do so. The reason is that Matthew was only 8 years old at the time. If we divorced, she definitely wouldn’t be able to take him with her.”
Athena didn’t dwell on the matter and went straight to the second question. “Have you ever felt sorry or regretful about Maggie over the years?”
Nicolas was slightly stunned, his gaze drifting towards the swimming pool below as he fell into silence
Athena remained silent, patiently waiting for his response.
After a long while, Nicolas finally sighed, his voice filled with nostalgia. “Whether you believe it or not, I’ve had countless women in my life, but she is still the one I have the deepest feelings for. It’s normal for a man like me to have a few women or illegitimate children outside. It won’t affect her and her two children’s status in the Graham family. As long as she turns a blind eye, she can live comfortably. But if she insists on holding onto these grievances, all she’s doing is asking for trouble…
From the way he spoke, it sounded like he didn’t think he was at fault. Instead, the mistake lay with Maggie for not being magnanimous and understanding enough.
“I understand.” Athena did not show any emotion. She then asked the third question, “Tomorrow is Maggie’s death anniversary. Aren’t you planning to visit her?”
It was understood that in the first few years after Maggie’s passing, Nicolas would visit her every year on November 22. However, after Farrah gave birth to their daughter, he stopped visiting her.
Facing this question, Nicolas fell silent once again.
After a long pause, he sighed again, “She’s gone, and there’s no soul to be found. What can I change by visiting her tomb?” Athena simply smiled and replied, “You were her only husband and the man she loved. Perhaps she misses you.”
After saying that, she stood up and politely added, “Thank you for your cooperation. I’m going to visit Adele now.”
Adele, still dressed in her old-fashioned traditional attire, poured her a cup of decaffeinated coffee and politely said, “I don’t know if you like this kind of coffee. If you’re not used to it, there’s no need to force yourself.”
“Thank you,” Athena smiled, picked up the coffee cup, took a few sips, and then politely said, “I only have three questions f you. The first question is, do you know that Maggie had decided to divorce Nicolas before the incident and had secretly consulted a lawyer?”
Adele looked up, a hint of surprise on her face. “She was deeply hurt by her husband’s betrayal and had always wanted a divorce. However, she was well aware that divorce would be disadvantageous for her, so it was merely a thought in her mind. I never heard her say she had decided to divorce.”
Athena looked at her and asked, “Have you ever felt sorry or regretful about what happened to Maggie?”
When it came to this, Adele slowly closed her eyes, her middle-aged face revealing a deep sense of melancholy and sadness.

Chapter 292
“I was at fault in her matter Everyone has their faults. Everyone should be punished.”
Athena continued to ask, “Tomorrow, will you go to visit her?”
Every year on this day, Adele would visit Maggie, no matter the weather, and stay for a long time before leaving.
Adele spoke softly, “Of course, anyone else may forget her, but never will.”
Athena nodded and said nothing more. “Thank you for your hospitality. I have no further questions.”
Then, under Matthew’s guidance, Athena carefully inspected every corner of the Graham family’s main residence, thoroughly examining both the interior and exterior.
As night fell, Athena joined the Graham family, including Adele, for dinner.
No one spoke, not a single person uttered a word.
After finishing the meal, the members of the Graham family greeted each other and returned to their rooms, showing no intention of sitting together to watch TV, chat, or engage in any form of entertainment.
The grand and luxurious Graham family residence felt lifeless, like a stagnant pool of water.
Athena stayed in the guest room on the second floor and did not come out all night.
In the early hours of the morning, a sudden fierce wind arose, accompanied by lightning and thunder, as torrential rain poured down.
The wind and rain lashed against the windows of the room, creating a loud and intense noise.
In such an environment, it was nearly impossible for anyone with normal hearing to continue sleeping.
Farrah opened her eyes in a daze and opened her mouth, wanting to ask someone to close the window tightly.
However, when lightning struck, illuminating the room with the light from outside, she clearly saw a figure standing by the window. ‘Maggie?’
Her eyes widened in shock. She opened her mouth to call for help, but she realized that she could not make a sound.
