She Outshines Them All (Athena and Matthew) novel Chapter 401

A tearing sound could be heard.

Linda's expensive silk chiffon dress could not withstand the opposing forces pulling in different directions, and in an instant, it was torn apart.

Her body, clad only in black underwear, was exposed to the crowd below and then crashed onto the life-saving cushion.

The height from which she fell was not enough to cause injury.

However, she fell sideways. Before she dropped, her body had still been hunched over the railing. When she hit the cushion, her body landed in less than two seconds, leaving her no time to wave her hands or stretch her body.

And then, an even more tragic event occurred.

As she fell, her body collided with the protruding waistline of the outer wall. When she landed on the cushion, her already bent right arm and right leg were pinned underneath her.

She only heard a "crack," followed by a sharp, excruciating pain in her elbow.

She was in so much pain that her face turned pale, letting out a painful groan. She tried to scream for help but could not, only twitching like a lifeless fish.

But she did not lose consciousness. The unbearable pain even kept her awake.

She heard concerned and ambiguous exclamations around her, saw countless people frantically snapping photos.

And among the chaotic crowd, she caught sight of Jaden.

Wearing a mask, he stood at the front with his hands in his pockets, looking through the crowd with cold indifference. His gaze was devoid of any nervousness or concern, as though he were staring at a stranger about to die.

Their eyes met.

Jaden took off his mask and flashed her a cold smile, like a demon revealing its true form.

At that moment, Linda's pupils suddenly dilated. Her whole body turned cold, and fear and bone-chilling coldness rushed from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, devouring her.

She understood everything.

Jaden did it on purpose.

He deliberately ignored her calls, deliberately hid in the crowd, and intentionally delayed things, waiting to see her fall.

When she was about to fall due to exhaustion and dizziness, he seized the opportunity to call her phone, distracting her and adding insult to injury.

Realizing this, tears streamed down her face.

As the rescue team approached with a stretcher, Jaden suddenly yelled, "Linda!" and rushed out of the crowd. He threw himself onto the air cushion, holding her upper body, tears falling onto her face.

"Linda, why are you so stupid?" Jaden said, his voice filled with concern.

"You're still young. Even if your husband dies and you have no one to rely on, you can't go to a dead end..." Jaden continued, his words trying to reach her.

Linda's eyes were wide open, and she made a muffled sound in response, struggling to comprehend.

Jaden was actually pinching her broken elbow hard. The pain made Linda's tears flow, and she felt like she was really going to die.

She tried to push Jaden away with her other hand but couldn't lift it.

Jaden brought his face close to the top of her head as if crying but whispered softly in her ear, "If there's a next time, I'll make it real and make you wish you were dead."
