Chapter 43
It was then that Celeste realized the clinic actually belonged to Simone’s father
“I heard you just got out of prison and are now demanding a divorce from Damien, Seems like you have nowhere else to go, so you plan to use your questionable medical skills to open a clinic and support yourselt?” simone sneered coldly. “With your pathetic medical skills, aren’t you afraid of killing someone?”
Her voice was soft, but the words hit like a dagger to the heart.
Usually, Celeste would’ve been furious, but right now, she felt nothing but calm.
“Whether or not my medical skills are any good is none of your business. Honestly, I never liked this place much anyway. Since it’s your family’s, I’ll pass.” Celeste turned to leave. “You can rent it out to someone else.”
Even if she couldn’t find a better place, she would never rent from someone connected to Lucy. It wasn’t that she feared trouble, but she didn’t want to deal with unnecessary complications. Most of all, she just couldn’t stand it.
“You’ve already paid the deposit. How can you just back out now?”
Simone quickly stepped forward, her eyes filled with a chilling fury.
She reached out to stop Celeste from leaving.
Just then, a little boy’s voice rang out from outside the door. “Mom, aren’t you going back on your word?”
Celeste looked up and sew Lucy walking in with Lucian.
It seemed like Simone had known she was coming to sign the contract and had arranged for Lucy to come watch the show.

good, right?” Lucy said, talang
“Exactly! Ms. Morin, you should set a good example for your son. Otherwise, if Lucian starts following your lead, that wouldn’t be g off her sunglasses and curling her lips into a smirk
“If I had known this place was yours, I wouldn’t have come.” Celeste’s voice was low and steady, and her face was expressionless.
simone glared at her, raising her voice. “You think my property is beneath you? Well, newsflash–I’m not exactly impressed by you either!”
“Your property didn’t do anything to the, but you sure did.”
Hertoor was cold, cutting straight to the heart of the matter.
Lucy turrowed her bow and focused her gaze on Celeste. “Ms. Morin, the past is between you and me. Simone was just a witness, there to testify for me. If you have edievances, you can take them out on me, but there’s no need to escalate this to canceling the deal, is there?
“Yes, there is” Celeste’s expression remained serious as she looked at Lucy.
“Mom, it’s all in the past now. Don’t rep holding onto it. Stop bring so petty!” Lucian suddenly chimed in “You didn’t get upset when I was framed last time, did
