She Went to Prison They Went to Pieces novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52

The moonlight filtered through the branches of the trees outside, casting a flickering pattern on the floor

Celeste stared at the shadows on the ground, but her mind wandered somewhere far away, she wasn’t sure how long it had been before she finally got up from the bed, her eyes dritting over the slightly disheveled sheets. A sarcastic smile tugged at the corners of her lips

If she hadn’t bitten Damien earlier, he might have really done something to her

After getting up, she went to the bathroom to take a shower..

She rarely stayed overnight at the Wrenford residence, so she hadn’t prepared any clothes, except for a plain white bathrobe that she could wear

By the time she finished showering, it was already past 10:00 pm

Feeling incredibly thirsty and Instrated, but not wanting plain water, she went downstairs to grab some alcohol

The Wrenford residence was eerily quiet. Everyone else had already gone to bed, and the living room was empty

To avoid disturbing the housekeepers on the first floor, Celeste didn’t turn on the lights, tiptoeing as she made her way to the kitchen

There was beer in the fridge, the same brand she had loved to drink a few years ago

She grabbed two bottles and was about to close one side of the fridge when she suddenly locked eyes with a pair of dark, piercing eyes

Startled, Celecte stumbled backward, almost losing her balance. The beer slipped from her hand

A large pair of hands caught her waist, steadying her, and the other hand snatched the fallen beer bottle. She looked up, and with the light from the slightly open fridge door, she finally saw the man before her

Adrian was wearing a black bathrobe. His usual aloofness had been replaced with a rare softness. His cold eyes were fixed on her

Celeste, oblivious to the situation, didn’t realize that her bathrobe, already loosely tied, had loosened further due to her fall

From Adrian’s angle, it was clear to see the scene that lay beneath her robe. The view, strildngly beautiful, immediately caught his eye

Celeste, aware of his gaze, didn’t rush to move. Instead, she smiled faintly, her voice calm, Mr. Wrenford

Adrian frowned slightly, and for a moment, his focus wavered as he met her gaze. Once he snapped out of it, he quickly released her

It’s late, and you’re down here in the dark I thought a thief broke into the house.”

I didn’t want to disturb anyone’s rest,Celeste replied softly, closing the fridge door. She casually twisted open the beer bottle in her hand

Adrian, without saying a single word, handed her the beer bottle in his palm. Here.”
