Chapter 91
“No! Don’t touch my son again!” Betsy quickly set down her phone and threw herself down in front of Zander, crying uncontrollably. “My son is in shock! What if you end up killing him while you’re trying to treat him?”
“Madam, please, stop wasting time! Move aside, quickly!” Rowan darted forward, trying to pull her away. However, Betsy clung to Zander, unwilling to budge.
Celeste’s expression stiffened. “This is really bad. He might really die if you keep delaying!”
Maybe it was Celeste’s intensity, or maybe her commanding presence, but Betsy was intimidated.
“I’ll make sure to explain everything to you once he wakes up. But for now, please don’t stand in the way of us treating him.”
Upon seeing Betsy finally relent, Celeste turned to Rowan. “Get the needles ready, and prepare for bloodletting!”
“Understood.” Rowan quickly barked orders to the men nearby. “You guys, move him inside
now!”
The men exchanged hesitant glances. No one moved.
“What are you waiting for? Every second counts! The longer we wait, the more dangerous it is! “Rowan’s voice boomed.
Finally, they scrambled to lift Zander and carry him into the treatment room. The door slammed shut with a loud bang as Rowan shut it behind them, leaving only Celeste and Zander inside.
Outside, the crowd gathered in tight layers, almost blocking the entire corridor. People murmured anxiously, their eyes glued to the treatment room. But none of them knew what was actually happening inside.
Matilda quickly left to call Annie.
Annie’s voice came through over the phone. “Aunt Matilda, did you need something?”
